Spanish Country Project
   Due Wednesday, March 14, 2012
Flag and Map
1) Flag and Map
A picture of the flag at least the size of a
regular sheet of computer paper.
Large map of your country that you create
(poster board, foam board). The map should
contain the following:
-At least 5 major cities (including the capital)
-Any major mountain ranges, lakes, rivers or
other geographical features
Famous Sites
  2) Famous Sites
Representation of at least 2 famous sites (clay
models, posters, travel brochures, dioramas,
etc). On a note card, give a brief explanation
of each site. Include any interesting facts
about your site.
Major Contributors
  3) Major Contributors to the Country
Identify at least 2 famous people from your
country. You could include politicians, athletes,
scientists, singers, actors, or other people that
have made major contributions. You may have
your contributors represented in various ways
including:
-poster board
-puppets
-mask
-book

   Please include the following in your project:
1) Who is your person?
2) What did they contribute?
3) What were the dates of their birth and
death (unless they are still alive)?
4) Where were they born?
5) In what part of the country did they live?
6) Did they ever live anywhere else?
Culture

Cultural (food, clothing, dance, music, art,
literature, etc)
Choose at least 2
-Create a dish from that country.
-Wear clothing from that country.
-Perform and/or teach the class a dance from
that country.
-Perform and/or teach the class a song from
that country.
-Recreate a piece of art from that country
Spanish Descriptions
  5) Spanish Descriptions
Wordle or Tagxedo of at least 12 words, in
Spanish, that represent your country (e.g.
forests, beautiful, ocean, monkeys, hot, etc).
Make another Wordle or Tagxedo with the
same exact words in English. DO NOT include
proper nouns (Frida Kahlo, Victoria Falls, etc).
Extra Credit
   6) Computer Project
You work in a travel agency and are trying to
promote tourism to your country. Use
everything you have learned so far and include
it in your presentation (sites, culture, etc) as
well as some of the history that has shaped
your country. Create a video that you are able
to give to me on a flash drive or that you can
put on YouTube.
Other Notes
If you and your group members are having
problems getting along, make sure I know
this ahead of time!

There will be a prize given to one team at
the end of the project (not necessarily for
the highest grade).

Someone in your group needs to bring a
flash drive to each Spanish class. If that
student is absent, make sure the flash drive
is somewhere where the rest of the group
may access it.
