San Francisco City Tours 
Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway, hoping to discover one of the most popular tourist 
destinations or wanting to live the city life while still enjoying a slice of nature, San Francisco offers the 
best of all the worlds. 
Explore the energetic venues of the city; go back in time at the historically significant places, take a walk 
in nature in the Golden Gate Park or just enjoy the view of the city by night. There is no dearth of 
entertainment, food and fun in San Francisco. The City of the Bay has more to offer than just ticking off 
the must-see places in your check list. Here is what you must not miss while in San Francisco. 
Golden Gate Bridge 
You can easily call Golden Gate Bridge as the most iconic landmark of San Francisco. Featured in 
countless movies, it is sight you must see with your own eyes to appreciate the majestic structure. You 
can drive over the bridge and there are parking lots on either side of the bridge. You need to pay a toll 
while returning back to the city from the other side. 
There are dedicated sidewalks on the bridge where you can bike or walk during the day and enjoy the 
view of the Pacific Ocean on side and the San Francisco bay on the other. Additionally, when the sky is 
clear, you will also be rewarded with the beautiful city skyline, the Alcatraz Islands, Sausalito as well as 
the Angel Island. The bridge is also a popular backdrop to take vintage San Francisco photos. 
Golden Gate Park 
Museums, park and hiking trails, Golden Gate Park is a world in itself. It is roughly three miles in length 
and is instrumental in bringing nature amidst the city. It is pretty place to spend an evening visiting the 
Japanese Tea Garden, San Francisco Botanical Garden, de Young museum, Stow Lake and the Dutch 
Windmill. The park is a great place for picnic, a place where you can relax and unwind. You can also 
skate or bike around the park and discover the monuments, lakes, groves and trails. 
Chinatown 
One of the most crowded areas of the city, Chinatown in San Francisco is a place built just for the 
tourists. The place is one of the historical landmark of San Francisco as well as one of the largest in the 
United States. You will be enchanted with the vivacious atmosphere and amazing food coupled with 
quirky shops and architecture. 
Wander through the main streets to shop, eat all you can and take photos. It is also great explore 
Chinatown in the night. If you have time to explore, amble through the alleyways, visit the fortune 
cookie factory, open air market, tea stores and other ships exclusive to the Chinatown. 
North beach
Adjacent to the Chinatown is the North Beach, which is another major tourist attraction in San 
Francisco. It is not actually a beach but a quaint neighborhood that has Italian roots. Once a place that 
attracted Italian immigrants, the place still holds the charms of antiquated Italian neighborhood with its 
cafes, restaurants and gelato shops that can take you back to Italy. 
You can enjoy some authentic Italian food here. Take a stroll in the Washington Square Park where you 
can people watch the neighborhood. In addition to these, North beach also has a rich night life and has 
some of the most happening spots in the City of the Bay. In the North beach is the Coit Tower, which is 
located on top of the Telegraph hill. Climb on top of the tower to get a breath taking view of the city. 
Lombard Street 
Want to drive through of the ‘crookedest’ streets? In the North beach is the Lombard Street which is an 
exciting experience you shouldn’t miss. The street is a one -way road and you can go back to the top. You 
will see a number of tourists walking down the street. The street is lined by vibrant flowers on both the 
sides that make a great place to take photos once you reach the bottom. 
Being a one-of-a-kind attraction, there is usually a long queue to drive down the block even if the actual 
drive down the street is just under a minute. However, when in San Francisco, it is still a place you 
wouldn’t want to miss. 
Sausalito 
Want to have a great view of the city? Take a ferry across the bay to Sausalito. It is another tourist 
attraction place with plenty of views of the bay, shops to explore and food to relish. You can, 
alternatively, drive over the golden gate bridge to go to Sausalito. 
Union Park 
The union park, oneof the oldest parks of San Francisco, is now a shopping hub. The crowd in the Union 
park is a blend of both tourists and locals. The plaza spans several blocks and is packed with boutiques, 
art galleries, restaurants, salons, art galleries, etc. It has premier underground multilevel parking garage, 
a theater district around the corner and a cable car line beginning another block away. It also has a 
seasonal ice skating rink that attracts numerous tourists and locals alike. 
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art 
It is the pivotal point of the San Francisco art scene. This museum is located just a few blocks from Union 
Square in the SOMA. The museum showcases both modern and contemporary art and boasts of multiple 
galleries to interest art lovers. Additionally, it also has gourmet café, book store and research library that 
can make your visit to the art museum as a learning curve as well as a pleasure activity. 
Cable cars
Tour the city by cable cars to take in San Francisco from another angle. It is economical and a fun way to 
take in the alluring city.Located justa block away from Union Square, the Powel-Hyde cable line is 
located on the Hyde Street. The cable runs until the Fisherman’s Wharf and offers the best aerial view of 
the San Francisco city. The Powel-Hyde line is the most scenic of the three cable line, the other two 
being the Powel-Mason line and the California Street line. The San Francisco Maritime National 
Historical Park is situated on the Hyde Street. It houses a collection of the historical vessels. 
The Powel-Mason line goes over the Mason street and Columbus Avenue and ends at Bay street, which 
is just a couple of blocks from Fisherman’s Wharf . The California Street line begins it the Financial 
Market and runs through the Chinatown and Nob Hill and finally ends at Van Ness Avenue. 
On the Nob Hill, at Mason Street, you have the Cable Car Museum that showcases the steel engines, 
winding wheels and other mechanical equipment that make the Cable Car run on its track. The entry to 
the museum is free. It also houses old cable cars, historic photos as well as a gift shop from where you 
can take a souvenir or two back home. 
Fisherman’s Wharf 
While locals think there is nothing great about Fisherman’s Wharf, tourist still feel they haven’t seen the 
city 0f the Bay until they visit Fisherman’s Wharf. The pier 39, Ripley’s believe it or not museum, the 
markets, Aquarium of the bay, Ghirardelli square and Cannery shopping center attract people to the 
Wharf. 
The Wharf is also haven, if you are seafood lover. There are several restaurants overlooking the bay 
serving authentic seafood. The wharf also has restaurants that serve international cuisine. Pier 39 offers 
great view of the San Francisco bay. You will see sea lions relaxing on the docks offering great sight for 
tourists. The pier has a huge video game arcade and live magic shows and other spectacles that will 
interest the tourists. 
The Embarcadero is the eastern waterfront located on the South beach. It is a popular shopping 
destination that also has a host of restaurants to its credit. The center also host popular events 
throughout the year apart from showcasing art exhibitions and films. 
The Ghirardelli square in the Wharf is another tourist attraction. It gets its name from the Ghirardelli 
chocolate factory that is situated in the square. The once functional factory is now open to tourists. Visit 
the square in the morning for guided tours. The square is flooded with restaurants and shopping to keep 
you entertained and fed. The square has the Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop where you can 
treat yourself to ice cream. There is also a gift shop that sells chocolate. 
The Exploratorium 
The Exploratorium is a science museum or rather a learning laboratory located on Pier 15 at the 
waterfront. It is a must visit place especially if you have kids tagging along. On a working day, you will 
see the museum crowded with students. It is filled with exhibits and an array of activities planned all
year around for kids as well as adults. The museum itself is very entertaining and will help your kids 
learn science in the most fun way possible. 
San Francisco zoo 
Located on the Great highway, the zoo is accessible from North, south and Easy bays. The zoo is a great 
getaway when you are spending a whole lot of time in the city. It is one of the cheapest ways to spend a 
day in San Francisco, especially if you are with kids. Apart from 197 species of animals, the zoo also has 
other attractions that can keep your whole family entertained. 
Crissy field 
It offers the best picturesque views within the San Francisco city. Enjoy bike rides, take a stroll through 
the shoreline park or enjoy a barbeque with your family: Crissy field is a multi -faceted venue that brings 
you closer to the nature while still in the city. Crissy Field also offers an excellent view of the Golden 
gate bridge. Here you can revel in the beauty of the massive bridge while enjoying the beauty of the 
Pacific up close from the shore.

San Francisco can be a foodie’s paradise. It boasts of fresh, local food as well has restaurants that bring
