The group chose the title "THE EDGE" for their music magazine as it relates to their target genre and reflected the views of their target audience based on a survey. They selected the font "Beatnik SF" to appear sophisticated yet modern and appeal to young women. The magazine's color scheme of black, white, and red was chosen based on popularity in questionnaire results and will be used throughout covers, content pages, and spreads.
4. We have chosen the title ‘THE EDGE’ as we believe it relates more to the genre of our music magazine. It also reflects the views of our target audience, as it scored highest in the survey we carried out. We looked at various different fonts, for both the music magazine names, but found that the look of ‘rumore’ wasn’t what we wanted our magazine name to look like, as it was more suited to a celebrity genre. The edge however, we feel represents the indie and rock genre in the perfect way. We have chosen to use the font ‘Beatnik SF’ due to the fact that it looks sophisticated yet modern, appealing to our target audience of mostly young women. We have played around with the font, using various colours reflecting the colour scheme of black, white and red that was highlighted to be the most popular in our questionnaire results. Through the front covers, content pages and double page spreads we will aim to use a vairety of these colours depending on backgrounds. PLANNING:
