1. Budgeting
What I would do with a budget of
500 dollars for one month

2. Food: I would allocate around 150$ for my food. I would
cook dinners myself, and make huge portions (i.e
spaghetti) for leftovers. I would definitely be on the hunt
for store deals and coupons.
Clothing: I would use 100$ for clothing, shopping at
places like value village. I would wear things twice, and
be on the hunt for coupons as well.
Transportation: In this situation, if anything was in
walking distance, I would be walking! But if it wasn’t, I
would allocate 70$ for bus fare. Today, a round trip
would cost 3.50$, so this would be enough for 20 round
trips.
Necessary Expenses

3. Cell Phone: I would get a monthly plan. For koodo, it is
30$ per month on the tab. The cost of their simplest
phone on the tab is 0$. So...cell phone cost = 30$.
Personal Items: I would allocate 80$ for shampoo,
conditioner, toothbrush/paste etc, buying stuff on sale.
Entertainment: I would allow 70$. This would pay for
about 3 movies at the cineplex, or various things like a
deck of cards.
Total Expense: 500 dollars!
To conclude, I really had to think about the necessities
of day to day life.
