1. AC-DC Converter Application Guidelines
1. Foreword

a.Converter should be handled with care to avoid causing damage to the product by impact or fall.
b.Do not open the case or touch internal components, which could cause damage to the products by
electrostatic or other reasons.
c.Do not approach or touch the heat sink or the case when the converter is in operation to avoid injury to our
body by abnormal operating.
1.2 Notice
a. Please make sure that all the input、output terminals, signal pin and necessary peripheral components
are properly connected according to the instruction.
b. The series of converter belongs to primary power, should be used in compliance with certain safety
standards.
c. In order to meet safety standard requirements, install a slow blow fuse at input of converter.
d. Converter input stage is hazardous energy that it should be out of reach from the end user. Product
manufacturer should also make sure that the input、output of converter is protected from being shorted from
any service engineer or any metal parts left.
e. The application circuits and parameters shown are for reference only. All parameters
and circuits are to be verified before completing the circuit design.
f. Clients are advised to unload aging 1 hour every six month when the converter is kept in stock or isn’t
used for more than half a year to keep its long life and good reliability.
g. It’s normal when there is slight noise inside the converter while its operated with light or no load.

i. Converter is component,it requires designed and guidance by professionals during installation and usage.
二、Type Selection Guidance
First determine to use standard or customized converter by the specification of the converter in accordance
with the required standard.

Step one: define the type of input type.
Define the type of input source is AC or DC; choose AC/DC converter if it’s AC while choose DC/DC if it’s
DC.
Step two: choose the standard reference voltage according to input voltage. See Fig.1 input voltage range.
Step three: choose product power and package type according to load-magnitude. We have single inline SIP
package, double inline small DIP package, common horizontal package, small horizontal package and DIN rail
package. Moreover, we have R&D open frame for YAWN series of products.
Step four: choose output voltage according to the load type. Our product output typically are 3.3V, 5V, 9V,
12V, 15V, 24V, ±5V，±12V，±15V.
Step five: choose isolation type.
Isolation property, which makes the input and output of converter are separate power. In industry bus system,
it can isolate from harsh environment, and eliminate ground loop. In mixed circuit, it realize noise isolation of
sensitive analog circuit and digital circuit. It realizes voltage converter in multi-voltage power supply system.
Our AC-DC isolation power are 2500VAC, 3000VAC and 4000VAC.
In general, try to use the standard power module, which could meet the requirement of low cost, mature
technology, reducing resistance of development, saving development time. For high isolation, ultra wide
