16. Please supply your cell phone number
and personal email address.
While these sections are optional, if you do choose to supply this
information, please complete each section.
Type just the numbers – do not type any symbols like (, ) -, etc.
Do not type the “1” at the beginning.
The Office of Residence Life uses multiple forms of communication to contact students.
We will use your personal email address to contact you until your Delhi Student Email
becomes active.
Text messages will only provide limited, non-emergency information, so it is important for
students to read other forms of communication that are sent from the campus. This
service is provided at no additional cost to students, however your service provider's
standard text message rate may apply.
17. The Higher Education Opportunity Act and SUNY Delhi
require that students living on campus have the option to
confidentially designate someone of their choosing to be
notified within 24 hours if the student is determined to be
missing. This person can be the same individual or a different
individual from the emergency contact that you provided.
While this section is optional, if you do choose to supply this
information, please complete each section.
19. Roommate Requests
Optional
Roommate Requests are optional. Use it only if you
have a specific person in mind that you would like to
room with.
If you do not have a specific person in mind that
you would like to room with, skip this page and go
on to the next.
20. Roommate Requests
To request someone as a roommate (s)he
must either already be a student at SUNY
Delhi or, if they’re an incoming student, have
already paid a housing deposit for Spring
2013 term.
You may request up to 2 different people as
roommates.
Roommates must all be the same gender.
It must be a mutual request—both people
must request each other.
21. Roommate Requests
Requests must be in before January 7 th.
Requests made after January 7th will most
likely not be honored due to a lack of
availability.
If one of the people is living on-campus
Fall 2012 and will NOT have a vacancy
in their room, they MUST contact the
Office of Residence Life and move to a
new room PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR
BREAK at the end of fall 2012 term.
22. Roommate Requests
It is YOUR responsibility, not that of
Residence Life, to make sure your and
your friend(s)’s roommate requests are
done correctly and on time.
If you have any questions, you should
contact the Office of Residence Life for
assistance.
Although every effort will be made to give
you the preferences you indicate, requests
are honored based upon availability.
Requesting something is not a guarantee
we will be able to fulfill your request.
23. To request a roommate…
Click “select” and you will get this box:
24. Enter the first two letters of your friend’s
first and last names. (For some reason, this
seems to work better than typing in the full name.)
Click “Search”.

25. If someone matches, you’ll see something
like this:
You may get more than one name returned in the
search. Click the arrow on the right for a drop
down of all the names returned.
If your friend is not listed, check with him/her to
see if (s)he has paid the housing deposit for SUNY
Delhi yet.
26. If your friend’s name is there, select it and
click “Confirm” and you’ll get this:
It will say “unconfirmed” until this person also
selects you as a roommate. Once your friend
requests you as a roommate, it will say
“confirmed” here. Both people must select
each other for the request to go through.
27. If you made a mistake and do NOT want this
person as a roommate, you can click “Select”
again and you’ll get this screen:
Click “Delete” to remove the roommate request.
If you want to, you can click “Search” to try to
find a different person.
28. Roommate Requests
Both students must request each other for the request to go through.
To Avoid Disappointment….
After you complete the contract, log
back in and select “Edit Preferences.”
Make sure that the answer to both
these questions is “yes”:
• Does your friend’s name appear after the
words “First Choice for Roommate”?
• Does the word “confirmed” appear after
your friend’s name?
Remember: Both requests must be in before January 7th.
29. Roommate Matching Information
It is important that the student (not a parent) answer
these questions honestly, so we can do a better
job matching roommates.
30.
31. There are several rules regarding overnight guests.
Please refer to the 2012-13 Housing Policy Guide.
32. Housing Preferences Page
This is the page
where you can tell
us about your
housing
preferences.
We house students
primarily in the
order in which we
receive their
housing deposits.
If your first choice is
available when it is
your turn to be
assigned, we will
give it to you.
Sometimes we
have to go to lower-
ranked choices due
to availability.
33. Ranking the Halls
Please rank the halls in your order of preference.
Please do NOT repeat a hall in your ranking.
It does nothing to increase your chance of receiving that hall as an
assignment, and it provides less input from you if we have to go to a
lower-ranked choice when making your assignment.
34. Transfer Students Only
Transfer Students may indicate an interest in living in
Catskill Hall or the Riverview Townhouses.
If applying to live in the Riverview Townhouses, you must first read and
agree to accept the terms and conditions set forth in the “2012-13
Riverview Housing Guide” (link provided).
35. Special Interest Housing
8a – Associate Degree Nursing
Optional
There are 3 different optional areas for special
interest housing available to new students:
• Golf-related majors (males) housed in Russell Hall
• Nursing majors (females) housed in DuBois Hall
• Veterinary Science majors (females) housed in DuBois Hall
The Veterinary Science section is a Living Learning Environment
(LLE) that requires an additional $50 charge per term to cover
expenses related to a resource room, peer mentors and social
programs.
There is no additional charge related to the Nursing or Golf areas.
36. Special Interest Housing
8a – Associate Degree Nursing
Be sure to appropriately rank the hall associated with the
special interest housing you request: Russell Hall for Golf,
DuBois Hall for Nursing or Vet Sci LLE.
For Example: If your first choice is to live in the Vet Sci LLE, you not only need
to select the Vet Sci LLE, you also need to rank DuBois Hall as your first
choice. If you select the Vet Sci LLE and rank Murphy Hall first and DuBois
Hall second, we will consider your first choice to be to live in Murphy Hall and
the Vet Sci LLE in DuBois Hall as your second choice.
37. Special Needs Housing
Optional
If you want to request special accommodations
due to medical circumstances you may indicate
this here.
You will need to provide the Office of Residence
Life with written verification from an appropriate
licensed authority separately (fax 607-746-4086). We
will contact you to let you know if your request
has been approved or denied.
38. Sign the Contract
In order to complete your housing application, you
must sign your contract, indicating you agree that
you are aware you are entering a binding contract
for the spring 2013 term and that you have read,
understand and accept all terms of the 2012-13
Housing Policy Guide (link provided).
39. Completed
When you see this screen, you will know you have completed your
application for housing.
Housing assignments will begin to be made the second week of
January. You can log back onto this site to see your housing
assignment once it has been made.
REMEMBER TO LOGOUT, especially if you are using a public
computer.
40. Making Changes
You will be able to change some of your
answers later if you want by logging in and
selecting the “Edit Your Preferences” option.
41. Thank you for viewing
this slideshow and for
choosing SUNY Delhi
Residence Life.
We look forward to
