Abraham Lincoln He was born on February 12, 1809. He lived on a farm and had to do a lot of work. When he was 7, his family moved to Indiana. It was winter when they arrived. When he was 9,his mother died.    A year later his dad got engaged

Alexander Graham Bell He built the telephone He taught deaf people how to speak He married a woman named Mabel Hubbard He made new kinds of plans and boats He entered a contest and won a prize Soon he was famous
Harriet Tubman By Anna
Harriet was born in 1820. She wanted to have freedom.  She was also a slave  Harriet was only 3 when she started working as a slave When she was 15 she got hit with a iron. In 1948  Harriet heard that Mr. Brodas was going to sell many of  his slaves she new the time had come to run away Harriet Tubman
During the day she hid in people’s houses she new Mr. Brodas was looking for her. Harriet helped over 300 slaves escape on the underground rail road . The slaves called her Moses . They loved this brave woman very much. Harriet Tubman

 Thomas Edison His parents were born in Canada but he was born in Ohio.  His parents called him Al. He went to school 3 months and home school the rest home school. He set a train on fire. He was born on Feb.11,1847. He talked to lots of visitors.

Helen Keller In 1880 in Alabama Helen Keller is born. In 1882 Helen gets sick, and becomes deaf and blind. 1887 Annie Sullivan comes to live with Helen. 1887 Helen learns her first words. 1902 Helen writes a book about her life. 1904 Helen finishes collage. 1913 Helen begins making speeches to help deaf and blind people. Helen died when she was 88! She lived from 1880 to 1968.
Orville and Wilbur Wright CARLOS
Orville and Wilbur Wright Wilbur and Orville invented the first motor- powered airplane. Wilbur was born in 1867.  Four years later, Orville was born. From the time they were little, Wilbur and Orville were best friends. Their mother liked to make things too. The Wright home was full of books. In 1878 , Mr. Wright gave Wilbur and Orville a gift they never forgot.

Christopher Columbus He was born in 1451 He was a sailor Thought he found a new way to reach Asia Wanted spices and jewels from Asia The king and queen from Spain gave him money to pay for his trip First person to sail from Spain across the Atlantic Ocean
Christopher Columbus He had three ships the Niña, Pintaand Santa María He used maps, a compass and patterns in the stars to guide him His trip took 71 days He reached the Bahamas on October 12, 1492 No one from Spain had been to the Bahamas before He died on May 20, 1506
Theodore   Roosevelt Danielle
Theodore  Roosevelt In    1867, the   Roosevelt Museum of  Natural  History opened in New York City. In the late 1800s,  American cities were growing very  quickly. In 1887 ,Theodore   decided    to  do  something   to   stop   the  destruction . In   1903,  Theodore  visited   Pelican   Island   in   Florida. Theodore  term   as  President  ended  in  1909. Theodore  died   on  January 6,1919.
Jackie  Mitchell By  Ellie
Jackie  Mitchell Jackie Mitchell was a small baby when she was born 1914. When she was eight years old, she learned a few pitching tricks from a great pitcher, Dazzy Vance. As a teenager, she played baseball with the Engelettes, an all women’s team owned by Joe Engel. Soon seventeen-year old Mitchell joined the Lookouts, she made baseball history. Jackie worked at the baseball stadium for five more years retiring in 1937 at the age of 23. In 1987 Jackie Mitchell died in the age of 73.
George Washington Justin
George Washington He was the first President of  America, born in 1732 when he was a kid he was ruled by Great Britain. He didn’t  care  who  ruled   him  ,he   loved Playing   games   with  his  friend’s  and  to  work  on  his  farm. He  started  school  at  the  age  of   7,he  was   taught  in  a  one  room  with  one  teacher. When he was 11 his father died, he lived on a big farm called Mount Vernon. He learned a lot  about farming there.
George Washington   He  loved   riding  horses ,  he   joined  the Virginia  army  he  soon  became  the   head  of   the  army. He  got   married   to  Martha  Custis  who  had   two   children  He  wanted  fight  for   Americas   freedom,  and  they    won. He  died   two   years later.
Maura Helen    Keller
She was born in  Tuscumbia, Alabama 1880.  She became sick when she was  almost 2  years  old. Her sickness made her deaf and blind. Helen felt alone in a  dark, silent world. Helen could not hear or see which made it hard  for her to talk. She could not talk  to the people. Helen   Keller
She  didn’t  know that other people had  feelings. She  kicked  and  hurt  other  children. They  took   her   to  see   Dr. Alexander   Graham   Bell They  were  too  late   because  he  was  running   a  school   to  teach  the  deaf. He  said   there   was   a   way   that  deaf   people    could  talk.   She   learned    to    write  and  read   in  Braille. She  touched   people’s  faces   to   read  their  lips. Helen  Keller
She  even   learned   to   use   her  VOICE!!!! She  died   on   June  1, 1968. Helen   Keller
Betsy Ross Katelyn Louise
Betsy Ross She lived from 1752 to 1836. She was born in Pennsylvania. She had 16 brothers and sisters. She went to school. She won many prizes for her work. She went to work in an upholsterer's shop. She met John Ross. She sewed the Flag  together She had made the first Flag.
Mae Jemison Erick
Mae Jemison She was also the first African American. women to voyage into space. She want to be   an   astronaut. She won a special scholarship. She have been a doctor first  She was thinking about the hurt people She was trained for an astronaut
Pocahontas Maria
Pocahontas Pocahontas  was  a  young  girl, who  helped the first English  settlers  in  America Pocahontas  was  born  in  Virginia  about  1595. Her   father  Powatan   was  a   powerful  Indian Powatan    could  be  very  cruel, but  he  loved  his pretty   little  daughter. Growing  up  was  fun  for  Pocahontas. She  run   and played  trough  the  woods and   meadows.
Rachel  Carson Erin  Marie
Rachel  Carson Rachel  Carson  was  born May 27, 1907. As a child she loved to be outdoors Rachel  grew up on a farm in Springdale  Pennsylvania She loved to play with  nature In the woods and fields, she learned to look and listen  carefully  to things all around her She  loved  to  write  books, before she  died she wrote  three  books
Rosa   Parks Ernest   Milton
Rosa Parks She  lived  with  her  mother, her  brother, and with her grandmother. She was taught how to read when she was three. She  help people. Her job is sewing clothes. She got arrested December 1,1955. On December 5 she stood  trial. She help change the law.
Squanto Joseph Cooper
Squanto He helped many people do what needed to be done.  He also went to a new place.  He also learned how to speak English.  He had a big party that lasted three days. He showed someone the best ways to farm. He played games with other people. He showed men where all of the fish were.
Susan B. Anthony Madeleine Renée
Susan B. Anthony She lived from 1820 to 1906. She loved to read and she learned to read when she was 3 years old. She was only 15 when she became a teacher. Susan became friends with Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Susan and Elizabeth started a newspaper about fighting for woman’s rights. In 1872, she voted in an election for the president of the United States.

George Washington He was born on a farm in 1732. Young  George rode his horse to school. He when out when he was 16 to look for a job. His dream was to become a  soldier. His army had problems they did not have enough uniforms or tents. He was elected two times. Some people even  wanted him  a  third  time.  He thought  there needed  to be a new president.

Johnny Appleseed He wanted plant apple orchards. He ate berries and nuts.  He loved the outdoors and the animals He sold his trees to the settlers. He became friends with the settles. He traveled for about fifty  years.

Maya Lin She  was  born  in  October  5   1959. Her  parents  were  born  in  Beijing  and  Shanghai. She liked to  make  little  towns   out  of  blocks. She worked  hard  in  school.  She made photographs.  She made a Vietnam  Veterans  memorial.

  • 2. Abraham Lincoln He was born on February 12, 1809. He lived on a farm and had to do a lot of work. When he was 7, his family moved to Indiana. It was winter when they arrived. When he was 9,his mother died. A year later his dad got engaged
  • 4. Alexander Graham Bell He built the telephone He taught deaf people how to speak He married a woman named Mabel Hubbard He made new kinds of plans and boats He entered a contest and won a prize Soon he was famous
  • 6. Harriet was born in 1820. She wanted to have freedom. She was also a slave Harriet was only 3 when she started working as a slave When she was 15 she got hit with a iron. In 1948 Harriet heard that Mr. Brodas was going to sell many of his slaves she new the time had come to run away Harriet Tubman
  • 7. During the day she hid in people’s houses she new Mr. Brodas was looking for her. Harriet helped over 300 slaves escape on the underground rail road . The slaves called her Moses . They loved this brave woman very much. Harriet Tubman

Helen died when she was 88! She lived from 1880 to 1968.

  • 15. Orville and Wilbur Wright Wilbur and Orville invented the first motor- powered airplane. Wilbur was born in 1867. Four years later, Orville was born. From the time they were little, Wilbur and Orville were best friends. Their mother liked to make things too. The Wright home was full of books. In 1878 , Mr. Wright gave Wilbur and Orville a gift they never forgot.

In 1887 ,Theodore decided to do something to stop the destruction . In 1903, Theodore visited Pelican Island in Florida. Theodore term as President ended in 1909. Theodore died on January 6,1919.

  • 22. Jackie Mitchell Jackie Mitchell was a small baby when she was born 1914. When she was eight years old, she learned a few pitching tricks from a great pitcher, Dazzy Vance. As a teenager, she played baseball with the Engelettes, an all women’s team owned by Joe Engel. Soon seventeen-year old Mitchell joined the Lookouts, she made baseball history. Jackie worked at the baseball stadium for five more years retiring in 1937 at the age of 23. In 1987 Jackie Mitchell died in the age of 73.

He didn’t care who ruled him ,he loved Playing games with his friend’s and to work on his farm. He started school at the age of 7,he was taught in a one room with one teacher. When he was 11 his father died, he lived on a big farm called Mount Vernon. He learned a lot about farming there.
  • 25. George Washington He loved riding horses , he joined the Virginia army he soon became the head of the army. He got married to Martha Custis who had two children He wanted fight for Americas freedom, and they won. He died two years later.

  • 28. She didn’t know that other people had feelings. She kicked and hurt other children. They took her to see Dr. Alexander Graham Bell They were too late because he was running a school to teach the deaf. He said there was a way that deaf people could talk. She learned to write and read in Braille. She touched people’s faces to read their lips. Helen Keller

Her father Powatan was a powerful Indian Powatan could be very cruel, but he loved his pretty little daughter. Growing up was fun for Pocahontas. She run and played trough the woods and meadows.
