The SPTF Universal Standards of Social Performance… … are a set of standards to which all double- and triple-bottom line microfinance institutions should be held …. establish clear expectations for both social performance and social performance reporting …. represent the foundation for social performance expectations, not the pinnacle
We are developing the Standards in response to demand from our membership Call for standards by members of the Task Force  ,[object Object],Attitude shift in the microfinance industry ,[object Object]
Are clients being harmed? What is happening to the client?
Why are profits so high? What interest rates are being charged?
What are the motivations of investors?
Can quality be sustained with such rapid growth?
What is the capacity and motivation of the governance?,[object Object]
The Standards combine and build from the work of other key initiatives Standards have their origins in work that began in 2005 to collect social performance data through the SPTF/MIX Social Performance Report The Standards incorporate work of many other initiatives/organizations: ,[object Object]
