1. Adobe Premiere Elements 13 – Tutorial
Importing/Organising
From the tutorial I have
learnt that this import
button located around
the top left of the screen
is how to get your footage
or videos into the
program to begin editing.
I have also learnt that by double clicking, and then
pressing play on a clip in the program, I can preview
and watch the clip before using it.
To organize files in the program, the album section shown on the
left can be used. Photos or videos need to be selected, using
shift click to select multiple of them, and then the green plus
sign next to album needs to be clicked to add them to a new
folder. This allows you to navigate through clips much easier.
Once the album is created, items can be dragged and dropped
into place.
Editing
To trim the beginning or the end of a clip, you just need to drag the
edge of the clip to where you want to trim it down to. To trim a middle
section the clip needs to be split into 2 separate clips where you want to
trim it, this is down by using the time indicator line, dragging it to where
you want the split and using the scissor tool next to the line. Once the
clips are separate trimming is the same as if you were trimming the beginning or end of the clip.
This tool bar along the bottom is where you go to add transitions, titles and text, effects, audio and
graphics. There is a wide range of transitions to use. To add them in to the clip you simply click and
drag the one you want, and drop it between the clips where you want the transition. You can choose
different things once you have placed the transition such as how long you want it to be.
