Sarah Napoli-Rangel is the Director of Service Learning at Inver Hills Community College. The program involves over 700 students per year completing service at 65 community partner sites, totaling over 85,500 hours of service since 2003. Benefits of service learning include meeting real community needs, personal growth, experience in new environments, increased student engagement and motivation, and community collaboration. Students must choose a site, get approval, and complete an online registration by January 28th, with time logs due by May 5th and signed by their site supervisor.
