As of 30 June 2016 there were 1,308 named endowments in 41 countries and
geographical regions with a total gift value of $195.3 million.

7. Major Gift Pledges
The Foundation may accept unconditional promises to give (pledges) with
payment terms generally of three years or less and valued at $10,000 or
more. The first payment should represent an equal portion of the total
value of the pledge.
Pledges must also comply with the following restrictions:
•Payments must come from the individual or entity making the pledge.
•Payments cannot be made through Rotary Direct.
•A pledge must be for a single designation only (no split-designation
pledges).
•Past giving cannot apply toward the pledge.
8. Endowment Fund- Naming Opportunity
$1,000,000 :Discuss your gift with The Rotary Foundation of Rotary
International.
$500,000: Global Grant Endowed Fund with optional geographic location
$250,000 :Global Grant Endowed Fund in one of Rotary’s areas of
focus.
$100,000 :Area of Focus Endowed Fund to global grants developed
around the world in one of the areas of focus
$25,000 Named Endowed Fund
Provides general support to the World Fund, SHARE, or Rotary Peace
Centers.
9. Rotary Peace Centers endowment opportunities
$1.5 million: Supports one two-year fellow at a Rotary Peace Center
every year
$1 million: Supports one two-year fellow at a Rotary Peace Center
every two years
$1 million: Supports a visiting lecturer at a Rotary Peace Center every
year
$750,000: Supports one two-year fellow every three years
$500,000: Supports one two-year fellow at a Rotary Peace Center
every four years
$250,000: Supports one certificate program fellow every year
$100,000: Supports annual seminar at a Rotary Peace Center every
year
$25,000 and up: Fund that provides general support to the Rotary
Peace Centers
11. Planned Giving TooL- Life Insurance Policy
The Foundation will accept ownership of Life Insurance Policies that meet the
following Criteria.
• If the Policy to be gifted is fully paid As of the date of the gift.
• The Policy must have a minimum face value of $1,000
• The life expectancy of the insured must be less than 15 years, as determined
actuarially. Individual Insurance Policies purchased by a Group of Individuals will
not be accepted
• The Foundation must have the ability to liquidate the policy for cash value Net of
any Liquidation Charges.
•The Policy must be Free of Loans when The Foundation takes ownership.
12. Planned Giving Tools- Estate Gifts / Legacy Gifts
A legacy gift to the Foundation is a gift made in the donor’s WILL,
revocable trust, or a similar estate planning document that effects a
transfer at death.
Estate gifts are generally arranged during the donor’s lifetime, with the
transfer of assets taking place after the donor’s death. When practical, any
estate gift that would require approval of the transfer of the asset should be
reviewed and approved by the Foundation prior to the commitment being
finalized.
Donors are advised to consult with the Foundation regarding how to
designate the gift and to discuss any restriction that is being considered.
13. Bequest Society Member
The Rotary Foundation recognizes couples or individuals who have made
commitment in their estate plans or endows insurance policy totaling
$10,000 or more.
Recognition items commemorate giving at these levels:
•Level 1: $10,000 to $24,999
•Level 2: $25,000 to $49,999
•Level 3: $50,000 to $99,999
•Level 4: $100,000 to $249,999
•Level 5: $250,000 to $499,999
•Level 6: $500,000 to $999,999
•Level 7: $1,000,000 to $2,499,999
•Level 8: $2,500,000 to $4,999,999
•Level 9: $5,000,000 to $9,999,999
•Level 10: $10,000,000 and above
