Intro:
For My final majorproject,I took60 portraitphotographs,tocreate a horror movie posterasmy
endproduct.I didn’tstickto myoriginal planas I wasoriginallygoingtocreate a horrormovie
trailer,withthe time becomingshorterandthe standardwe was able tocreate withthe equipment
we have,we decidedtochange itto a movie poster,inordertogetthe bestprojectat the endto a
professionalstandard.
Technical qualityof my photos:
I feel the technical qualityof myphotoswasvery good;the imagesI tookwere clearand lookedlike
theyhad beentakenprofessionally,accordingtomyaudience feedback. Abode Photoshopplayeda
bigpart in gettingmyimageswhere theyneededtobe,Iuseda loton low opacitypainttoolsto
create shadowsunderthe eyes,rednessinthe eyes,andpalerskin.Ididthisto create a scary and
possessedlike looktomymodel,inordertodraw the audience inandwonderwhatthe filmisabout
and whyshe islike that.I tookthe picturesina small roomwitha dark sheetbehind;Ipointed
professionalphotographylightinginthe directionof mymodel,andalsousedsome underlighting
for some of my images.
Have I acquiredand newskillsof furtherdevelopedothers?
I thinkthat myknowledge of Photoshopandwhatyoucan do on there hasdefiantlyincreasedandI
have beenable tocreate more professional lookingprojectsespeciallyonthisone.Ihave alsolearnt
howto make the textaddedtothe picture more professional,creatingdepth,contours,highlights
and differentaffectstothe textitself, makingitstandoutand lookmore high-quality,reflectingthe
movie poster.The title andthe wayitlooks are veryimportantasthisis whatthe audience will
rememberandwill stayintheirmindswhendiscussingthe movie choices.
Doesmy final projectmatchmyoriginal intentions?
My original intentionsformyfinal majorprojectwere tocreate a filmtrailer.IplannedwhatI
wantedthe filmtobe like andwhat route we wouldgoaboutto make it. It wasgoingto be a trailer
for a horror movie,aboutanOuijaboardand the maincharacter becoming possessed.After
researchingwaysinwhichtrailersare created,andthe time andlack of equipmentwe had,we
decidedtochange thisintoa postercampaign. I still usedthe same movie idea,andtookportrait
imagesof my model,thenwas able tocreate textand creatingthe advertisementside of the project,
and createda much more professional andvisuallyappealingfinal projectthanIwouldhave if
choosingtostick with the trailer.
Didyou have any issueswithtime management ordidyouencounteranyproblems?
Nearingthe middle-endof thisassignment,whendecidingtochange myprojectidea,Iencountered
problemswithtime managementasIthenhad to change whatI needto doin a short space of time.
Sayingthat,I was thenable tostick to myschedule well, andcreatedmy3 final imageswithinthe
time I gave myself toa highandprofessional standard.
Have I beensuccessful inreachingmytargetaudience withmyfinal majorproject?
Overall IthinkI have reachedthe audience Iwasaimingforinthe beginning. The targetaudience
for myprojectare youngteens-adults15and above. I researchedwhowatchesthese moviesthe
mostand alsoaskedstudentsand friends,tofindoutthe true target audience.Afterfinishingmy
projectI thenwentandaskedmultiple studentsinmycollegeforthe feedbackonmy3 final posters.
Throughthis audience feedbackIhave gathered,mostthinkmypostershave beenasuccessinthe
professionalismandvisuallyappealingaspectof the images.Usingpie chartsI askedstudentsfrom
my classto answerthese questions andgive me feedbackstraightawayinwhattheysaw.
I alsocreateda surveyfor myposters.I sentthisoutto a more variedrange of people,different
ages,and notstudentsattendingmycollege,togathera difference of opinions andmake sure that
my audience feedback wasmore indepth.
Here are the questionsandanswersgiven.Thisfeedbackhasgivenme knowledgeonwhatthe
audience want.Ithinkthatmy postershave beenasuccessas all said theymake themwantto see
the movie,andthat’sthe mainaim of my advertisementmovieposters.
These are my final 3 postersformy project. I tookto photograph’sof mymodel witha black
backdropto create a dark andscary lookwithonlyherheadin the light.Ididallotof workin
Photoshop,tocreate a possessedlookonmymodel,Idarkenedunderhereyeswithalow opacity
painttool,also darkenedandwidenedthe pupilstocreate apossessedlook,alsogivingrednessto
the eyes. Ididthison all of mychosenphotos.On the middle poster,Imergedtwophotostogether
to create a half andhalf lookof the maincharacter,and a scary looking doll,Ithoughtthiswould
workwell tointrigue the audience andmake themwanttoknow whyand whathappenswiththem
twocharacters. I didthisby draggingandcroppingboth imagestofitthemtogether,andthen
startedto blendthe harshlinesbetween theminordertocreate a smootherandblendedlook.
For my text,Ilearntto create a bevelledandcontouredlookmakingitmore professional andto
standout to the audience,makingitlookmore creative andlessplaintolookatalso.
The creditsat the bottomof my posterswere creatingbydownloadingthe rightfonttouse and from
thenI justchose my filmproducersetc.tofill the actual credits,Ithinkby doingthisitreallymakes
my posterslooklike areal advertisement.FollowingonfromthisIcreated‘quotes’frommagazines
and newspapersgivingareviewandratingof the film, Ithinkthismade the posterslookreal also,
and added an extraaspectto myposters.
Overall Iam verypleasedwiththe lookof myposters,andI thinkthatall the differentaspectsof
each one make fora greatadvertisement,andtheysmall changesanddifferencesineachone make
it an interestingpostercampaignhopefullyleavingthe audience wantingmore.

Intro: For My final majorproject,I took60 portraitphotographs,tocreate a horror movie posterasmy endproduct.I didn’tstickto myoriginal planas I wasoriginallygoingtocreate a horrormovie trailer,withthe time becomingshorterandthe standardwe was able tocreate withthe equipment we have,we decidedtochange itto a movie poster,inordertogetthe bestprojectat the endto a professionalstandard. Technical qualityof my photos: I feel the technical qualityof myphotoswasvery good;the imagesI tookwere clearand lookedlike theyhad beentakenprofessionally,accordingtomyaudience feedback. Abode Photoshopplayeda bigpart in gettingmyimageswhere theyneededtobe,Iuseda loton low opacitypainttoolsto create shadowsunderthe eyes,rednessinthe eyes,andpalerskin.Ididthisto create a scary and possessedlike looktomymodel,inordertodraw the audience inandwonderwhatthe filmisabout and whyshe islike that.I tookthe picturesina small roomwitha dark sheetbehind;Ipointed professionalphotographylightinginthe directionof mymodel,andalsousedsome underlighting for some of my images. Have I acquiredand newskillsof furtherdevelopedothers? I thinkthat myknowledge of Photoshopandwhatyoucan do on there hasdefiantlyincreasedandI have beenable tocreate more professional lookingprojectsespeciallyonthisone.Ihave alsolearnt howto make the textaddedtothe picture more professional,creatingdepth,contours,highlights and differentaffectstothe textitself, makingitstandoutand lookmore high-quality,reflectingthe movie poster.The title andthe wayitlooks are veryimportantasthisis whatthe audience will rememberandwill stayintheirmindswhendiscussingthe movie choices. Doesmy final projectmatchmyoriginal intentions? My original intentionsformyfinal majorprojectwere tocreate a filmtrailer.IplannedwhatI wantedthe filmtobe like andwhat route we wouldgoaboutto make it. It wasgoingto be a trailer for a horror movie,aboutanOuijaboardand the maincharacter becoming possessed.After researchingwaysinwhichtrailersare created,andthe time andlack of equipmentwe had,we decidedtochange thisintoa postercampaign. I still usedthe same movie idea,andtookportrait imagesof my model,thenwas able tocreate textand creatingthe advertisementside of the project, and createda much more professional andvisuallyappealingfinal projectthanIwouldhave if choosingtostick with the trailer.

Nearingthe middle-endof thisassignment,whendecidingtochange myprojectidea,Iencountered problemswithtime managementasIthenhad to change whatI needto doin a short space of time. Sayingthat,I was thenable tostick to myschedule well, andcreatedmy3 final imageswithinthe time I gave myself toa highandprofessional standard. Have I beensuccessful inreachingmytargetaudience withmyfinal majorproject? Overall IthinkI have reachedthe audience Iwasaimingforinthe beginning. The targetaudience for myprojectare youngteens-adults15and above. I researchedwhowatchesthese moviesthe mostand alsoaskedstudentsand friends,tofindoutthe true target audience.Afterfinishingmy projectI thenwentandaskedmultiple studentsinmycollegeforthe feedbackonmy3 final posters. Throughthis audience feedbackIhave gathered,mostthinkmypostershave beenasuccessinthe professionalismandvisuallyappealingaspectof the images.Usingpie chartsI askedstudentsfrom my classto answerthese questions andgive me feedbackstraightawayinwhattheysaw. I alsocreateda surveyfor myposters.I sentthisoutto a more variedrange of people,different ages,and notstudentsattendingmycollege,togathera difference of opinions andmake sure that my audience feedback wasmore indepth. Here are the questionsandanswersgiven.Thisfeedbackhasgivenme knowledgeonwhatthe audience want.Ithinkthatmy postershave beenasuccessas all said theymake themwantto see the movie,andthat’sthe mainaim of my advertisementmovieposters.

I tookto photograph’sof mymodel witha black backdropto create a dark andscary lookwithonlyherheadin the light.Ididallotof workin Photoshop,tocreate a possessedlookonmymodel,Idarkenedunderhereyeswithalow opacity painttool,also darkenedandwidenedthe pupilstocreate apossessedlook,alsogivingrednessto the eyes. Ididthison all of mychosenphotos.On the middle poster,Imergedtwophotostogether to create a half andhalf lookof the maincharacter,and a scary looking doll,Ithoughtthiswould workwell tointrigue the audience andmake themwanttoknow whyand whathappenswiththem twocharacters. I didthisby draggingandcroppingboth imagestofitthemtogether,andthen startedto blendthe harshlinesbetween theminordertocreate a smootherandblendedlook. For my text,Ilearntto create a bevelledandcontouredlookmakingitmore professional andto standout to the audience,makingitlookmore creative andlessplaintolookatalso. The creditsat the bottomof my posterswere creatingbydownloadingthe rightfonttouse and from thenI justchose my filmproducersetc.tofill the actual credits,Ithinkby doingthisitreallymakes my posterslooklike areal advertisement.FollowingonfromthisIcreated‘quotes’frommagazines and newspapersgivingareviewandratingof the film, Ithinkthismade the posterslookreal also, and added an extraaspectto myposters. Overall Iam verypleasedwiththe lookof myposters,andI thinkthatall the differentaspectsof each one make fora greatadvertisement,andtheysmall changesanddifferencesineachone make it an interestingpostercampaignhopefullyleavingthe audience wantingmore.
