Main Area of Responsibilities:
• Business Partnering: Provide timely, proactive financial evaluation, information and
advice that enables Corporate Departments (e.g. Finance, Human Resource,
Information Technology, Corporate Regulatory Affairs & Legal, Business Development
and Business Security) management to develop and execute effective plans and take
informed decisions, as well as to help build strong financial and commercial awareness
within the respective functions.
• Performance Management: Financial control (P&L) and Overheads Reporting and
Management (internally as well as to external parties), including the overall Budgeting
and Planning process of the Corporate Departments as well as take proactive steps to
ensure effective resource allocation.
• Internal Controls: Ensure transactions are properly accounted in accordance to IFRS
(e.g. capitalization of intangibles, etc.), ensuring effective internal controls in place to
safeguard BATM’s interest.
Principal Accountabilities:
a. Business Partnering
• Together with Head of Corporate Finance and Corporate Planning Manager, constantly
participates and drive decision making processes of the Corporate Departments,
bringing financial / business focus to activities.
• Increase the level of financial / commercial awareness within the functions by
educating non-finance managers to raise the level of objectivity behind decisions.
• Provide financial / commercial advice and analysis for projects of the Corporate
Departments (e.g. capital expenditure and payback, net present value analysis, return
on investments, capital appraisal and costs vs. benefits analysis).
b. Performance Management
• Coordinate and preparation of the Corporate Departments budget / plan and to provide
accurate and timely information to help management monitor ongoing performance.
• Report on, and analyse overheads and other spend (e.g. capex and recharges to help
identify inefficiencies or opportunities for cost reductions).
• Assist Corporate Planning Manager in sharing financial analyses and tools to ensure
that the Finance functions is incorporated into the core business activities of Corporate
Departments and is recognised as a value-adding business partner.

• Identify, analyse and report relevant measures that track progress towards corporate
goals, including driving the appropriate use of performance metrics (e.g. Big Ticket
Items (BTI) Reporting.
c. Internal Controls
• Assist Corporate Overheads management with the development and implementation of
practical procedures to ensure that a high level of internal control exists both within the
department and where appropriate within external parties working on our behalf e.g.
service providers.
• Conduct internal controls training for non-finance manager to enhance awareness.
Achievements:
a. Business Partnering
• Provided leadership and influencing skills to peers and stakeholders via successful
driving of Key Projects (e.g. Project Plc, Project Internal Order, Project Van Hijack,
Project Booster).
b. Performance Management
• Effective and timely coordination, consolidation and delivery of Corporate Overheads
budget for the annual Strategy & Budget cycle.
• Reduced budgeting cycle for corporate departments by designing and implementing
effective information systems (efficient and effective templates) to support Corporate
Departments during the annual Strategy and Budget cycle.
• Effective and successful implementation of Quarterly Financial Review process for
Corporate Departments to assist them in rigorously monitoring actual spends vs.
budget to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness of spend.
• Effective and timely coordination, consolidation and delivery of monthly Corporate BTI
Report and BTI Exception Report for presentation and circulation to Top Team
members.
• Successfully assisted Corporate Departments to resolve financial system issues with
Finance Shared Services Centre - FSSC (e.g. wrong posting and utilisation of
provisions) by establishing a focal point of contact within FSSC for issue escalation
and resolution.
c. Internal Controls
• Successfully assisted Corporate Departments in coordinating yearly internal control
self assessment on key business processes and functional sign-off of key control
checklist by Top Team. This initiative helped in achieving improved rating on internal
control by PwC.
