2009 to 2014 Senior Principal Project Development Engineer, Performance Materials &
Technologies
Honeywell International, Inc., Morristown, NJ
Responsible for development of capital projects from concept through full funding
approval for the Performance Materials & Technologies group of Honeywell.
Experience highlights include:
 Development of a project to build a commercial scale plant to produce
Solstice™ yf (GWP  1), the next generation environmentally friendly automobile
air conditioning system refrigerant, to replace the current refrigerant used in
automobiles, R134a (GWP = 1,300). Development of this project spanned 4
years from lab piloting of the process through FEL options sorting, screening
and scoping/budgeting refinement stages 1, 2 & 3. It culminated in the approval
of a $200+ million project to construct a world scale Solstice™ yf (HFC-1234)
plant at Honeywell’s existing fluorocarbons complex in Geismar, LA. During the
development of the project’s scope, value improvement ideas were identified
that reduced the project’s budget by 5 million dollars.
 Assessment of another company’s technology readiness to build a semi-
commercial HFC-1234 environmentally friendly refrigerant plant. Honeywell’s
decision to partner with the company on this investment was based on this
assessment.
