Miami Reggae Festival Nov 23rd at Peacock Park in Miami. Rockers Movement is a non-profit (501)c(3) organization. Enabling Change + Creating Solutions
Mission
Our events are designed as family fun filled days of community empowerment, environmental awareness and social justice with an urgent humanitarian effort to end hunger. A call to action! Music and movements go hand-in-hand: music has been a key part of social change. It gives us an outlet to express that which we care about, a quality of life concept to bring the knowledge of need through the arts.
7. The Miami Reggae Festival or as our yogi friends call it the One Love Nutrifest is
where you wanna be at Coconut Grove, FL’s Peacock Park on Saturday,
November 23rd simply causeyou care! The 4th annual event will showcase a
global mix of notable artists. Miami Reggae Festival aims to highlight the power of
word, sound and art at its day-long event and will donate a portion of all ticket
proceeds toTECHO.This festival where the admission requires a mandatory
minimum donation of two non-perishable food items per person, features a lineup
as diverse as Miami itself. The performers themselves represent a collective
conscious of cultural awareness, of giving back and we all know how much LIVE
MUSIC ROCKS! At Miami Reggae Festival, musicians from around the world will
treat music lovers to a full day of international sounds. Joining Jamaican reggae
progeny Stephen "Ragga" Marley on the lineup are Tiken Jah Fakoly from Africa’
s Ivory Coast, Cultura Profética from Puerto Rico, Natiruts from Brazil, Midnite
from St. Croix USVI,Gondwana from Chile, Black Slate & Carroll Thompson from
the United Kingdom, Bachaco from Venezuela and Causion from Antigua. The
event also features DJ performances from Don One Musical Showcase,
Cornerstone Sounds & DJ Majestic plus MC Lance O of Kulcha Shok Muzik.
8. Miami Reggae Festival is not merely an event, it is a journey directed by the
unifying languages of the Arts. This festival invites the world to be a captive
audience to the works of artists embodied by peace, love and unity. Coming
together to raise awareness and feed local familes. Thery know together we can
help make a difference and outnumber hunger. In This consciousness evolution
we must be ready. As Gandhi so humbly said: "be the change you want to see
in the world" Miami will showcase the beauty we are capable of and an
expression of the connected energies that we share hence from which we grow.
We are all infinitely connected, we are all one in love!
Art and Music have been the signpost of moral clarity since the 1960’s. Miami
began one of the nation’s foremost art festivals a la Coconut Grove Art Fest, the
1970 began the Art Basel era. In 1972, Miami Dade Cultural Affairs was born, to
show the importance of art as an element of social progress. 1973 saw the Art
Basel’s special exhibition providing galleries from all over the world, over an
audience of diverse cultures. Diversity in art and music continued with the birth
of Miami Goombay Festival 1976, the 80’s Orange Bowl Parade, Miami Grand
Prix., 80’s-90’s, Art Deco Weekend, Marley Fest, Taste of the Grove, Calle
Ocho, Miami Carnival, Hispanic Heritage Fest, among others. These festivals
addressed music and art as a means of entertainment and a building block of
vibrant cultures from the world over. Rockers Movement address these moral
issues with a bonding of music and art, or music as art, our mission is truly to
transform the world communities through inspired action, which help build self-
reliance.
9. Rockers Movement is Feeding the People! The people behind Rockers Movement, a
premier event production company with over 15 years successful events to date,
understand the importance of using the transformative force of music to stir social
conscience, to actualize social change. That is precisely what they aim to accomplish
with the launch of WE THE PEOPLE, FEED THE PEOPLE, using first-rate festivals to
empower each other to help people in need of food assistance. This food drive festival
in Miami on November 23rd with at Coconut Grove’s Peacock Park is an event not to
miss
"It was important we started in our own back yard," said event organizer Alfonso
D'Niscio Brooks. "1 in 6 Americans are at risk for hunger. It’s doubly important we not
wait for a natural disaster to recognize the growing hunger epidemic, or to seek out
ways to help our brothers and sisters." The simple truth is change is possible within
one generation. Whilst a great deal of today’s media paints a very negative picture of
the world’s level of development, we share ‘tremendous success stories’ highlighting
the reality: great progress is being made. A mixture of factors which has seen the
decline including new technology, better policies, more sensible governing, aid and
due to the work of the people themselves
10. "Hunger knows no color, no creed," Brooks said. "That's why it was critical for us to ensure we offer a lineup
that reflects the Miami landscape." Considering the current economic climate we have made the entry FREE
before 3 p.m. with the food donation allowing everyone the opportunity to be a part of the event. Festival
officials and their media partners also are encouraging attendees to ride their bikes and make use of our
bike valet or use public transportation to get to the festival. Do have a nice walk and enjoy the beauty
Coconut Grove has to offer. There are so many things to do in Coconut Grove. From the The Barnacle
Historic State Park, to the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Visit the neighborhood restaurants and stores
and yep smiles are the norm. Coconut Grove is the perfect Rockers Movement haven of peace loving folks
full of IRIE VIbes they live by the the laws of One Love. They are opening their town to us to share in the
vibe and the spirit of One Love. Let's return the favor and tell them why their townROCKS with an awesome
event.
And it is just as important for the benefactor of the event to serve a diverse population, ensuring the core
message of unity and humanitarianism. Event organizers chose TECHO! Keeping in the spirit of unity,
attendees are asked to contribute two or more non-perishable food items as part of the cost of admission.
Proceeds from the event will benefit TECHO, a youth led non-profit organization present in Latin America &
the Caribbean. Through the joint work of families living in extreme poverty with youth volunteers, TECHO
seeks to overcome poverty in slums. TECHO is born everyday from the encounter of volunteers and families
living in slums, in working together to overcome poverty and exclusion. Their mission is to end hunger by
providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts, and
transforming lives through innovative programming and education.

a burgeoning art scene in South Florida.
Goal: Don’t believe me check out Art Walk Miami every 2nd Saturday of the
month from the dark streets of Wynwwod to the bright lights of the Design
District there is talent lurking street corners, brush strokes on window panes,
canvassed front doors and murals after murals, as far as the vision goes your
eyes will take you. In staying with this trend since inception Rockers Movement
has included live art in its festival and will continue so this year with an amazing
gallery display to follow the artist’s on stage work. Some of the top talent in the
