ACTRIS, the Aerosol, Clouds, and Trace gases Research Infrastructure, is the
European Research Infrastructure for the observation of Aerosol, Clouds, and Trace
gases.
ACTRIS started in 2011 merging existing networks for establishing a sustainable
network of coordinated long-term atmospheric observations in Europe
ACTRIS is composed of observing stations, exploratory platforms, instruments
calibration centres, and a data centre.

ACTRIS is identified on the ESFRI Roadmap 2016 document presented during the
launch event on March 10, 2016.

Relying on specialized scientific communities technological
developments and observing capabilities are enhanced.
The networking fosters the fast and broad developments.
ACTRIS provides the link and the approach for a sustainable
development
Link with users (scientific, SMEs, society, citizens) drives the
development and dissemination of integration tools to fully
exploit the use of multiple atmospheric techniques at ground-
based stations.
