• YouTube is a video sharing
website created in 2005 by
three PayPal employees:
Chad Hurley, Steve Chen,
and Jawed Karim.

Watch:
• Like: click on the “like” icon to let others know
• Comment: responding to a video by adding a comment.

clicking “Rent”. Your YouTube account must be
upgraded with your billing information for this feature
• Suggested Videos: after watching a video, click on the
suggestions column for related videos.

• Search: type a keyword, subject or video title to
search for.
• YouTube Charts: check it for the list of the top
videos. It can be categorized by popularity, date
range, and content category.
• Subscribe: click the subscribe button if you liked
a video and the persons latest videos and recent
activities with be delivered to your homepage to
keep you updated with their activities.

Share:
• Share a video using social networks, email or blog by
clicking the Share button.
• YouTube provides users with a code to add a video to
their blog or webpage, by clicking the Embed button you
get color and size options and then copy and paste the
code into the HTML on your site or blog.
• Autoshare: automatically share your favorite videos with
your friends on your social network by linking your
YouTube account with your Twitter, Facebook,
MySpace,.. and choosing the activities you’d like to
share.

Personalize:
• Channels: your YouTube account homepage.
Personalize it by choosing the background
color, formatting and module options.
• Favorite: when you like a video add it to your favorite list
which will make it easier for you to return to it when
needed.
• Build your Queue: as you find more videos you like, click
Add to” and the videos will be added in a queue and so
that you can watch them later continuously by clicking
on “Autoplay”.

4. Do not Spam: create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to
increase views.

• Advertisers can buy ads on YouTube’s homepage, search result pages, and
within the videos themselves.
