  1. A vast broadcast landscape that we don't yet fully understand, that is constantly developing, and in which we as programme makers must move our audience from being pasive spectators to being participators, and even co-creators of our content.
  2. But who are these people, and what are they doing online?
  3. 1, 9, 90% Those that just want to sit passively, those that will be persuaded and those that are in it for everything. How do we get those numbers from consuming this:
  4. to consuming:
  5. something that literally blows their heads off
  6. the more audiences are exposed to quality, the more they will demand it.
  7. take your idea
  8. where is it best placed. we used to ask Film, tv (serial, soap, series, one off drama) radio, novel, theatre - now we must also ask, web, phone, gallery, street corner... and if web - where on the web - if phone - which type of phone - so many questions. But where are the audience for your show already consuming content?
  9. is there a need? Is there a demand? is there a niche that is not being filled - is there a demographic not being reached. all of these can be ways of funding and therefore bringing your show to screen. Equally, saturations - are there already shows just like yours? Who are your competitors? What will it take to make their show look lame and old fashioned?
  10. cover your ass cause they'll rip you apart essentially - your story is the only thing that matters. the more ways you can find to tell it, to share it, to create buzz and hype, the better it will travel. without a brilliant story you will just get lost in the maze. no matter how amazing your technology, the gadgets, the widgets, the things i can do or share - they will quickly become stupid if the story is not robust enough to cope, and the characters too lame to care about.
