Coincidently Reckon has played safe on the top one with all data located in Aus and ownership of data the clients Data stored: Data centre and failover sites all in Australia. Purposeful strategy by Reckon as we believe this will become an increasing concern in the future if is isn’t already. Data sovereignty laws are being reviewed by countries and businesses alike Be aware of the possible ramifications of having your data held in another country Security of the Cloud: World class data centre (AWS) following best practice policies and procedures for data security ISO 27001 certification and has been validated as a Level 1 service provider under the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS) CA Backup my Data Both Hosted and One are backed up regularly in our data centre Redundancy Failover Backups Hosted has the added advantage of backing up the data file and restoring locally Leaving the Service: Hosted – download a backup and view in read only on your local system for as long as you like One – data will be held for 7 years in read-only mode which includes the ability to print reports. You can recommence your subscription at any time during this period All users will be informed when their data will be deleted. It is important to keep the clients information current with Reckon

Connectivity Both applications operate in an online environment, meaning an internet connection must be present Hosted can be accessed offline to allow the business to continue to operate under such circumstances however the client should have a regimented backup routine in place to ensure datafile integrity Alternatives to loss of connectivity should be investigated eg. 4g wifi modems Reckon Accounts Hosted is a natural progression for businesses who would like the benefits of the cloud, and yet retain all their valuable historical data and who don’t want to learn a new accounting package Reckon have recently broken new ground by offering a windows application in a seamless browser environment, allowing the software to be truly cross platform (apple, windows) without the need to install 3rd party clients. The inventory module in Reckon Accounts is used by 100’s of thousands of users? This year we introduced automated bank feeds into our solutions, with enhancements already developed for the 2016 release. The integrated payroll module means that everything payroll related is kept in the same place as the rest of the business’s financial information. - AP Load balance Introduce a File Server Load Balancer which will enable us to load balance the file servers on RAH to better manage storage and reducing the risk of unplanned outages. Literally spreading the load Bank Data Over the past two years we've introduced Bank Feeds & Transaction Rules. The feedback we've received from AP's & Customers is that having automated BankFeeds is the feature that a lot of users base the decision on what Accounting Software they will go with. The feedback we've received is that the BankFeed feature within Reckon Accounts is still behind other applications (Especially Cloud Based) in terms of usability. The enhancements to be included are: - - Allowing users to enter/edit Transaction Rules 'on the fly' - Allow Class Tracking - Have a new Payee Condition called 'Contains' so users can match partial words - Ability to enter Multiple Transactions via a Rule - Ability to create Sales Receipts (may not get through in the next release) Ability to Export & Import the Rules List (may not get through in the next release) NZ legislation To implement any legislation changes (ie Tax Rates) that are released as part of the IRD budget in December.
