The Hungarian Parliament Building sits along the Danube River in Budapest and is one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings. It lies in Kossuth Lajos Square and is currently the third largest parliament in the world. The Széchenyi Chain Bridge spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest. It was the first permanent bridge built across the Danube in Budapest when it opened in 1849.
