• Worry about lack of STEM vocations.
• Indicators:
• Every year less students choose to study STEM
• Some companies are having problems to find STEM workers
• Some reasons:
• Perception STEM subjects are difficult and it isn’t worth to study.
• Girls don’t choose STEM careers (Technical areas or Physics)
• Lack of good professional models of STEM people.
• Bad image of scientist
• Teaching/learning of STEM subjects is not attractive in many
occasions (only repetition of problems without connection with real
life)

Workshops in the FCL
The Science Projects Workshops in the Future Classroom
Lab (SPW@FCL) bring together STEM teachers working on different EC
funded projects. The programme always includes general sessions
designed by the lead project, as well as presentations by the collaborating
projects. Parallel sessions with specific programmes for each project also
take place. The workshops encourage the integration of the projects’
content and best practices into the setting and facilities of the FCL.
Friday 16th October, Brussels: 8th Scientix Projects Networking Event on Evaluation within
projects.
Friday 6th November, Brussels: 9th Scientix Projects Networking Event on Experiencing STEM
inside and outside of the classroom
