2. A collaboration with Rachael’s husband producer/engineer Benjamin
Hurt, the couple recorded and produced In Full Bloom from their
home studio before work each day. Picture this… the dark quiet of
early morning, bass lines recorded in cosy dressing gowns, a
slippered foot tapping out the groove to a guitar riff, and the big
family dog laying at Rachael’s feet while she records vocals, all over
steaming cups of tea and before sunrise.
“Making the album was a very beautiful unfolding process; it was
also developing and deepening my working relationship with Ben.”
Throughout this rich and varied rock/pop album, Rachael's voice is
divine in its sweetness, yet full of clarity, purity and strength. The
release of In Full Bloom marks an evolutionary shift in Rachael’s
approach to making music and is her second album since originally
hitting the airwaves over 10 years ago. This shift has come from
making more harmonious choices in her life and this has naturally
flowed on to her expression with music.
“In the past, music had been about creating an image that fitted into
a mold or fulfilled an outside expectation - what I thought the world
wanted me to be….very unhealthy. But now music is simply about
being myself and expressing all of who I am.”
In Full Bloom is available on CD and download at
