        The Baptism in the Jordan
After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the

 Heaven was opened.
The Holy Ghost came down upon him like
a dove. And a voice came from Heaven saying
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well
 pleased.”

6. The Holy Spirit at
    our baptism
“ I have baptized you with water.
He will baptize you with the Holy
Spirit.”
As the Holy Spirit descended
on Jesus at His baptism, so
He descends on us at our
baptism and inspires us to a
loving union with God, and
transforms us with His
supernatural life. We become
new creations.
We are adopted as sons or
daughters of our Heavenly
Father. We too become
heirs.
“Live in Love”
7. We die to our old selves
  Through baptism we die to
our old selves and are born
  into Christ. To continue our
  journey we must renew our
  baptismal promise to die
  and rise with Christ.
“Do you not know that all of us
  who have been baptized into
  Christ were baptized into his
  death?”–St. Paul

How are we to continue to
  bury sin in our lives?
8. Wash at the fountain
“Go and wash at the
fountain!
Wash yourselves at the spring
of living water which flows
from the pierced Heart of my
son Jesus, through the
sacrament of
reconciliation.
I want you pure in mind,
heart and body.” (Gobbi)

9. The Holy Spirit descends on Him to invest Him
with the mission which he is to carry out.
                                          In our baptism
                                          we are
                                          anointed
                                          as Christians.
                                          This means we
                                          are followers
                                          of Christ. Just
                                          as Christ faced
                                          the cross and
                                          embraced it,
                                          we too will
                                          have suffering
                                          & crosses in

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana in
Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there…
When the wine ran short Mary said to Him, “They

does your concern affect me? My hour has not

Third Luminous Mystery
   The Proclamation of the Kingdom
After John had been arrested, Jesus came to
Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:
“This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God
is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Spiritual fruit: Desire for Holiness,
                 Grace of Conversion.
Pope John Paul II suggested that we focus on
Christ’s call to conversion and his forgiveness.
1. With Jesus He fasted for forty
in the Desert days, offering his fast
                  to the eternal Father
                  as a satisfaction for
                  the disorder and vice
                  of gluttony. He
                  satisfied the offenses
                  committed through
                  them by the exercises
                  of the virtues contrary
                  to them.
                  In satisfaction for our
                  pride He offered his
                  profound humility; for
                  our avarice, his
                  voluntary poverty .
                  (Mary of Agreda)
2. “Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be yours as well.”
                                In this most
                                secularized society
                                today, am I also
                                putting worldly
                                pursuits of fame,
                                fortune, pleasures and
                                enjoyment of life first,
                                and the kingdom of
                                God last?
                                We need to reassess
                                our lives often and
                                turn back to God.
                                (True conversion)
3. “ My Kingdom is not of this world .”
“Today the Gospel should be lived with the simplicity of little ones,
with the ardour of martyrs, and with the fidelity of courageous
witnesses; it should be lived to the letter! You are being called to
follow me along the road of heroic and pure faith.” (Gobbi)

virtues by word and example. He searched out the poor and afflicted,

performing miracles of mercy as well for body as for soul. (Mary of

6. Ministry of Mercy and Forgiveness:
Christ came to us not as a just judge but a saviour,
offering us forgiveness & chance to start over again.
                                       When we

                                       we also
                                       encounter

Fourth Luminous Mystery
         The Transfiguration
 While Jesus was praying His face changed in
appearance and His clothing became dazzling
white. And behold two men were conversing
with Him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in
glory and spoke of His exodus that He was

1. The Holy Mountain: He went up the mountain to pray.
“The mountain is the place of ascent—not only outward but also inward
ascent. It is a liberation from the burden of everyday life, a breathing in
the pure air of creation. It offers a view of the broad expanse of creation
and its beauty; it gives one an inner peak to stand on and an intuitive
sense of the Creator.” (Pope Benedict XVI)

                          Christ symbolizes the

                          in our lives.
                          Christ calls us to

                          God, and be changed

Come by means of the powerful intercession of
the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your well-beloved
   Spouse.”
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament.
Fifth Luminous Mystery
       The Institution of the Eucharist
 “I am the living bread that came down from
Heaven; whoever eats this bread will live
forever; and the bread that I will give is my
flesh for the life of the world.”

The Holy Eucharist gives us not only grace
but the Author of all grace, Jesus, God and
Man. It is the center of all else the Church
    has and does.
Spiritual fruit: Love of our Eucharistic Lord
1. Institution of the Holy Eucharist
Christ offers his body and blood as food under the signs of
Bread and wine and testifies “to the end” his love for
humanity, for whose salvation he will offer himself in
sacrifice. No one has greater love than He who lays down
his life for those whom He loves.

Leonardo da Vinci, The Last Supper.
2. The Eucharist is the same sacrifice as on Calvary

                            In the Eucharist the sacrifice
                            of Christ becomes also the
                            sacrifice of the members of
his Body. The lives of the
                            faithful, their praise,
                            sufferings, prayer, and work
                            are united with those of
                            Christ and with his total
                            offering. Christ’s
                            sacrifice present on the altar
                            makes it possible for all
                            generations of Christians to
                            be united with his offering.
                            (Catechism)
3. Bread of life: “I am the living bread that come down from heaven.
.
Whoever eats of this Bread will have life and I will raise him up on the last
day. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in
him. I am with you always, to the end of the ages.” (in the Eucharist.)

       Tintoretto, The Last supper. 1561.
4. Daily Communion
                 “Write this admonition in thy
                 heart; and since without thy
                 merit the Almighty has
                 ordained, that thou receive holy
                 Communion daily, seek by all
                 possible means to preserve
                 thyself in the good dispositions
                 from one Communion to the
other. It is the will of the Lord
and my own, that with this
sword thou fight the battles of
the Almighty in the name of the
                 holy Church against the
                 invisible enemies. (Mary of Agreda)
5. United with the Holy Trinity!
The Eucharist is a true banquet
                           in which Christ offers himself
                           as our nourishment. He also
                           grants us the Holy Spirit.
                           “Grant that we who are
                           nourished by his body and
blood may be filled with his
                           Holy Spirit.”

Whoever is united with One of
                           the Three Persons is thereby
                           united to the whole Blessed
                           Trinity, for this Oneness is
                           indivisible.
                           (St. Faustina Kowalska)

Titian, The Last Supper.
6. The Eucharist: source and summit of all evangelization.
                                                     In holy communion
                                                     each of us receives
                                                     Christ, and Christ
                                                     receives each of
                                                     us.
                                                     Holy Communion
                                                     brings about the
                                                     mutual “abiding” of
                                                     Christ and each of
                                                     his followers.
                                                     The Eucharist thus
                                                     appears as both
                                                     the source and
                                                     summit of all
                                                     evangelization.
                                                     (Pope John Paul II)
Joos van Ghent, The Communion of the apostles, 1460 Palazzo Ducale. Urbino.
7. The Eucharist is a priceless treasure

                    “The Eucharist is a priceless
                    treasure: by praying before it
                    outside of Mass we are
                    enabled to make contact with
                    the very wellspring of grace.”
                    (Pope John Paul II)

                    “Of all devotions, that of
                    adoring Jesus in the Blessed
                    Sacrament is the greatest
                    after the sacraments, the one
dearest to God and the one
                    most helpful to us.”
                     (St. Alphonsus Ligouri)
8. Sorrowful mother of the Eucharist.
“Today my motherly heart is deeply wounded and saddened because I
see that about the divine presence of Jesus in the Eucharist there is
much emptiness, silence, neglect, and abandonment.
I want to bring you here with me, prostrate before every
tabernacle, in an act of adoration and reparation.” (Gobbi)
                                             Let every (retired)
                                             person understand
                                             that your greatest
                                             contribution to the
                                             Church’s mission lies
                                             in your adoration and
                                             reparation before the
                                             Blessed Sacrament !
                                             Many souls can be
                                             saved by praying the
                                             Divine Mercy prayer at
                                             3 pm.
9. Communion of life with Jesus
              “Before the tabernacle, you
should be in a communion of
life with Jesus. Make of Jesus
              your dearest friend. Tell your
              love to Jesus .

              This communion of life with
              Jesus will develop and mature
into your holiness, and of a
              possibility to transform evil into
              good, and to act profoundly
that souls may be led by you to
              salvation.” (Gobbi)
10. Jesus washes the feet of his disciples
“Today is the day of the new commandment: ‘Love one another as I
have love you.’ Beloved sons, put yourselves ever at the service of all.
You must also wash the feet of your brothers, pour balm on their
wounds, share with them in their needs and their poverty.” (Gobbi)
                                                “

Ford Maddox Brown, Jesus washing Peter’s feet.

Consecration to the Immaculate Heart (Short version)
“ Virgin of Fatima, Mother of Mercy, we who belong to the
Marian Movement, consecrate ourselves in a special way to
your Immaculate Heart. We also consecrate our motherland
(Nation) to your Immaculate Heart. We intend to live with you,
through you and for you, all the obligations assumed by our
Baptismal consecration to bring about in ourselves that
interior conversion so urgently demanded by the Gospel, that
we may be available only to do always the will of the Father.
Allow us to dwell in the garden of your Immaculate Heart .
Lead us to a spiritual renewal with prayer and penance, with
the daily recitation of the Holy Rosary, the fervent
celebration and adoration of the Holy Eucharist, the practice
of Christian virtues, and in the works of the apostolate .
Help us to be the disciples of The Marian Movement to
multiply everywhere Cenacles of prayer made with you for the
evangelization of the world, and the Divine Mercy prayer , for
the salvation of the world. Help us to do everything with you
in a spirit of humility, prayer and penance.”
Finally pray one Our Father,
one Hail Mary, and one
Glory be, to the Holy
Father’s intention.
