1. COMMITMENT OR PROMISE
• Promise - Make somebody Expect something, A word of
Assurance, Swear, Undertake to do something etc.
• Commitment - Responsibility; Loyalty; Firmness
Promises are made by many people but they are never kept. Many marriages
these days are failing because they do not keep to the promises they made to
each other.
It is far better to be a Christian of Commitment than a Christian who makes
promises [which are not kept]. Commitment is being loyal, keeping your word and
always achieving what you were committed to do.
We all make promises to God which are never kept and we find a million excuses
and reasons for not keeping them. Do not make promises to God – make
Commitments to Him.
Romans 12 – 1 & 2
Therefore, I urge you , brothers in view of God’ s mercy to
OFFER your BODIES as a LIVING SACRIFICE, holy and
pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.
• Offer è It is a “Voluntary Act”
• Your Bodies è This means the whole person / body.
• Living Sacrifice è We must present our bodies as dead to sin as the
temple of the Holy Spirit.
• Holy and Pleasing to God è 1 Peter 1 vs 13 – 16
Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled;
set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is Revealed.
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had
when you lived in ignorance.
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;
for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy.

2. 1 John 2:15 says:-
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone
loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Bury your old nature with all it’s sins. Don’t hang on to a few of them. Give up
your bad habits, don’t let them control you. The devil will work on your mind and
make you justify what you are doing. BUT don’t be fooled. If for 1 second you
have a doubt in your mind; or if a friend advises you that what you are doing
does not please God. Give it up immediately. Do Not try to reason out. Ask God
to help you to overcome.
Sin in your life is like a cancer and it keep’s growing.
Many Christians are outward Christians without an Inward Change. They come to
church on Sundays and the rest of the week they forget about Christ. In Church
they are very pious and may even be leaders of the Church. God is not pleased
with such a life. Let your change be from Inside.
Ephesians 4:23 says:
to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
Be Transformed – A change from the Inside.
Your mind is the gateway to your heart and emotions.
Colossians 3:10 says:
put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in
the image of its Creator.
Your attitude is extremely important. At all times learn to give Thanks
to God. Learn to have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE at all times. If you are
trying to do something and it does not work, don’t give up – try
another method. When God closes one door he opens another which is
far better. To a believer there is nothing called
Failure….Coincidence….Chance…..Luck…..God is at work in everything
that happens in a believers life. The choice is your’s. Choose to be
Positive.
Romans 8 : 28 says:-
And we know that in all things God works for the good of
those who love him, who have been called according to his
purpose.
