Click and collect truly entered the mainstream providing exciting horizons

busy lives who by definition spend most of their time out of home.

At Posterscope, we consider cinema as a very specific out-of-home communication

OCS drives our thinking
Exclusive to Posterscope, our global Out-of-Home Consumer Survey (OCS) is a
sophisticated planning tool based on a survey of over 1,500 adults in Belgium offering
insight into consumers, their lifestyles and attitudes and their relationships with media
and advertising.
OCS is designed to get a better understanding of people’s behavior and attitude
towards out-of-home to achieve the optimum consumer connection. OCS tells us how
people travel, where they want to be, what they are thinking about, which environments
and formats best engage with them and how they are most likely to respond. This
unique knowledge ensures we understand consumers’ out-of-home behavior better
than anyone else. So when a customer approaches us with a brief, we know who their
consumers are, their moods and mindsets, their media consumption and the best time
and place to connect with them.

The CIM Study is the market’s official audience measurement system. It provides
the reach and frequency figures for the main outdoor formats belonging to the media
owners participating to the study.
Methodology
The audience of a panel is generated by the contacts occurring between the panel and
the people passing-by. The study is build on two layers: the travels layer (gathers all
the travels made by the sample 12+ across a whole week within the 48 CIM cities) &
the panels layer (gathers all the panels located within the CIM’s 48 cities in the street,
stations and tube).

Adex Monitoring
The Adex Monitoring is the market’s official investments study. It provides the advertising
spends across multiple media and sectors. MDB stands for “Media Data Bank”, it
contains the facts and figures of the advertising investments in the Belgian “above-
the-line” media. By regular data deliveries, the advertising industry is kept aware of the
advertising pressure and the evolution in the Belgian media scene.
Important : only 6 OOH media owners (JCDecaux, Clear Channel, Belgian Posters,
Mediageuzen, Brightfish (Cineposter) and Mobilad) take part into the Investment
Study, therefore all other existing media owners/formats are not taken into account in
the below figures.

• Clear Channel wins the Brussels’ city centre street furniture market previously held
by JCDecaux. As a consequence Clear Channel’s 2m² offer includes +/- 1.000
sides located in the very heart of the Capital amongst which 100 digital screens
should also be deployed as part of this new contract later in 2016. JCDecaux
remains present in the city-centre with 600 sides thanks to the Villo! (shared bike
service) and STIB (entrances/exits of the metro stations) contracts. As per January
2016, Clear Channel integrates these Brussels city center’s sides into their 2m²
national offers and creates a Brussels’ local network.

22. Clear Channel Connect
Clear Channel Belgium is the first operator to
introduce three permanent interactive networks
equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC)
and Quick Response (QR) technologies. NFC
enables consumers to interact with a poster
site thanks to the NFC chip contained in their
smartphone. The launch of these networks
makes OOH interactive and even more mobile.
It puts OOH online and allows advertisers to
develop a closer relationship with consumers.
These three interactive networks together offer
a total of 3.158 panels at strategic locations in
street (3.000) and stations (100 posters + 58
screens).
JCDecaux Swarm
Every JCD 2m² panel is now located on Swarm
offering advertisers the opportunity to cross
both off- and online campaign. Through a simple
check-in at a poster site containing the Swarm
logo, consumers can now directly interact with
the advertised brand.

JCDecaux iBeacons
250 JCD street 2m² panels (from Authentic Lady
network) are now equipped with the iBeacon
technology. Beacons are fast becoming the
technology of the moment. Different kind of
sectors are all harnessing the benefits of using
these small, wireless devices, to very different
ends. Beacons are a type of low-cost, micro-
location-based technology that uses Bluetooth
low energy (BLE 4.0) to communicate with
mobile devices. They offer brands the ability
to get to know target audiences and their
preferences better through location and
interaction data. This enables marketers to serve
locally-relevant content or vouchers on people’s
mobile phones or push notifications through to
build loyalty programmes. With the introduction
of Beacons across the globe in so many different
environments, global consumer adoption is
looking like it will be relatively fast-paced.
JCDecaux Buzzyfy
Buzzyfy is a new tool from JCDecaux that
enables to analyse specific public audience’s
conversations on social networks close to
JCD furniture. These collected data can give
additional insights on a target but also enrich the
‘point of interest (POI)’ geographical approach
for customized networks. Thanks to this tool,
JCDecaux introduces a digital ‘retargeting’
offer enabling brands to retarget their audience
in proximity of JCD OOH campaign via social
media.

What’s new in 2016?
Proximity
JCDecaux & Clear Channel now gives to advertisers the opportunity to select some
sides closer to their strategic locations (POI), points of sales (POS) or to reach specific
target groups. The street furniture offer evolves towards a more targeted approach.
However it’s important to bare in mind that outdoor remains a mass medium.
Next to Premium networks from JCDecaux where only a part of the sides are “targeted”,
the media owner now offers a 100% customised 2m² network of 600 sides (JCD
Customized 600).
Also to complete their proximity offers, Clear Channel and JCDecaux create new

installations and regular changes of image, certain sites can become very attractive in
terms of advertising space. It’s precisely the reason why banners are being increasingly
used for advertising purposes nowadays in urban areas.
Banner sites are only available for a few months, during construction, renovation or
maintenance works of buildings. The average booking period amounts to 1 month and
