CENTRO DE EDUCACIÓN MEDIOAMBIENTAL + ALBERGUE
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER + HOSTEL
El proyecto está situado entre Rascafria y el Monasterio de El
Paular.
El río Lozoya es el gran protagonista en esta zona, Flanqueado
al noroeste por los Montes Carpetanos, al sur por Cuerda
Larga y al este por la Sierra de la Morcuera, el alto valle del
Lozoya es uno de los lugares con mayor valor natural de la
Comunidad de Madrid.
Se proponen programas educativos interdisciplinares de 1 a 15
días adaptados a Primaria, Secundaria, Universidad y
Formación del Profesorado en consonancia con la reforma
educativa, una manera integral de conocer y actuar sobre el
entorno, que complemente la enseñanza reglada y el trabajo
escolar y constituya una motivadora y apasionante experiencia.
El programa de necesidades propuesto contempla dos usos
diferenciados, albergue y centro de educación medioambiental.
El primero es un uso puramente residencial, con las zonas
propias de un albergue como son las habitaciones y zonas de
aseo; y una serie de usos comunes asociados a este tipo de
edificios tales como zonas de estar, comedor, cafetería...
El segundo es un uso de carácter lúdico y educativo que viene
reflejado en las estancias del salón de actos y el gimnasio que
aparece en la planta superior.
El resto de la edificación se destina a cuartos o recintos de las
diversas instalaciones que deben integrarse en el edificio y que
son necesarias para facilitar el funcionamiento del mismo.

The Lozoya River is the main item in this area, flanked by
Carpetanos Montes, south by Long Rope and east by the
Sierra de la Morcuera, the high valley of Lozoya is one of the
places with the greatest natural value of the community of
Madrid.
1 interdisciplinary educational programs are proposed to 15
days tailored to Primary, Secondary and Teacher Training
University in line with education reform, a comprehensive way
to know and act on the environment, to complement formal
education and school work and constitutes a motivating and
exciting experience.
The proposed program includes two different applications
needs, shelter and environmental education center.
The first is a purely residential use, with those of a hostel as are
the rooms and toilet areas areas; and a series of associated
common uses for this type of buildings such as living areas,
dining room, cafeteria ...
The second is a fun and educational use of character that is
reflected in the rooms of the auditorium and gymnasium that
appears on the top floor.
The rest of the building is intended to rooms or enclosures of
various facilities to be integrated into the building and are
necessary to facilitate the operation.
ANALYTICAL PHASE
LA FELICIDAD INTERIOR BRUTA APLICADA AL URBANISMO
GROSS NATIONAL HAPPINNES APPLIED TO PLANNING AND
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

países del mundo, sino la felicidad interior bruta.”
En cuatro décadas, Bután ha logrado lo que otros países
consiguen en cientos de años: educación –en inglés–, sanidad y
comida asegurada para sus habitantes, electricidad casi
totalmente subvencionada, agricultura completamente ecológica,
planificación urbanística estrictamente regulada y un turismo de
alto valor y poco volumen cuyos ingresos pagan la mayor parte
de los impuestos que dejan de pagar sus habitantes. Durante
este periodo de despegue, la esperanza de vida de los butaneses
ha pasado de 44 a 66 años, y la alfabetización, que únicamente
se conseguía en los monasterios o fuera del país, ha llegado al
60%. “Hemos encontrado un modelo que nos funciona por medio
de otras vías de desarrollo. Nos hemos fijado en países que han
crecido mucho económicamente, pero que se han cargado su
propia cultura, sus valores y su entorno natural, para no hacer lo
mismo –aclara el ministro Zimba–. La población de estos tiene
recursos, pero no es feliz”.

UNA CASA EN SAN SEBASTIAN DE LA GOMERA

El método para proyectar que se ha basado en analizar la
arquitectura tradicional preexistente en la zona y las soluciones que,
por adaptación al entorno, han ido transformándola.
De este análisis, sumado al estudio de las condiciones climáticas
concretas de la zona y las necesidades del cliente, surge en este
caso la vienda en una parcela de San Sebastian de la Gomera.
Volumen sencillo y compacto que situamos exento, elevado sobre la
piedra y los muros de lajas de granito acuñado (cortinas) sin
tocarlos, para diferenciar la actuación y que el impacto sobre el lugar
sea mínimo.
Una de las soluciones que adoptamos del modelo tradicional fue la
compacidad, renunciando a la segunda planta que permite la
normativa, con el fin de proteger la edificación de los vientos y
producir un impacto mínimo en el entorno, quedando los ventanales
retranqueados tras un soportal y cerrado este a su vez por paneles
móviles acabados con piedra del lugar.
El material con el que se construye en la zona es evidentemente el
granito pero, al contrario de como se coloca actualmente, este va con
la junta abierta (piedra seca) para evitar sobrecalentamiento en los
duros meses de verano continental. Esta la solución adoptada para
el acabado exterior; piedra granítica de las canteras del lugar de gran
espesor sujetas con anclajes metálicos y junta ventilada es parte del
sistema de climatización pasiva. De manera que aporten la inercia
térmica necesaria, almacenando la energía en el interior en invierno
e impidiendo la entrada del calor en verano.
The design method was based on analyzing the existing traditional
architecture in the area .
From this analysis, and the study of the specific climatic conditions of
the area and the needs of the customer is developed the house on a
parcel of San Sebastian de la Gomera .
Simple and compact volume, free, high on the stone walls and slabs
of granite coined (curtains) without touching them, to differentiate the
performance and the impact on the site is minimal.
One of the solutions we adopt the traditional model was compactness,
giving up the second floor under the laws in order to protect the
building from wind and produce a minimal impact on the environment,
leaving the windows recessed behind a portico and this in turn
enclosed by moveable panels finished with local stone.
The material from which it is constructed in the area is obviously
granite but, unlike currently stands as this goes with open board (dry
stone) to avoid overheating in the hard months of continental summer.
This solution adopted for the exterior finish; granite quarry site
secured with thick metal anchors and airy meeting is part of the
passive cooling system. So provide the necessary thermal inertia,
storing energy inside in winter and preventing the entry of heat in
summer.
UNA CIUDAD PINTADA CON LA SOMBRA DE LOS ARBOLES
A CITY PAINTED WITH THE TREES SHADOWS
Cuando hay una textura real, coexisten las cualidades táctiles y ópticas, no
como el tono y el color que se unifican en un valor comparable y uniforme,
sino por separado y específicamente, permitiendo una sensación individual
al ojo y a la mano, aunque proyectemos ambas sensaciones en un
significado fuertemente asociativo.
En la zona de talleres predomina el ruido, el olor a madera trabajada, tras
esta zona donde se podrían experimentar las diferentes fases de la
producción de la madera. Se accede a la zona audio visual. Una serie de
imágenes se proyectan, en ellas se muestran las especies arbóreas y sus
posibilidades de uso explicando también los elementos que se encuentran
en la sala, como sillas puertas arquitectura… Hay una luz ambiental tenue y
focos alumbrando los elementos que se muestran en las imágenes.
La siguiente es la Madera Viva, colores olores, humedad... tras esta sala
se encuentra el bosque, un laberinto donde se van apreciando de forma
aislada las diferentes sensaciones que crea la naturaleza.
Tactile and optical qualities when there is a real texture coexist, not like the

sensations that nature.
UNIVERSITY OF VALLADOLID COMPETITION
After the study of the history and characteristics of these buildings, it has
been chosen the parts that will be conserved. On one hand the wall that
marks the limit with the street in the zone C, and in the other hand the house
of the family of Ortiz de Paz located in the area A-1.
It leaves a concept of integrated campus, this is, each center contains uses
basically departamentals, as well as seminars, rooms, shops, and specific
laboratories of each formation.
The classrooms and the library has a centralized character, for all centers.
In this Campus every elements are related to each other through areas
exclusively for people, having the vehicles access only to the underground
parking.
The building is made up of four floors, with the basement. In this one is
located the parking area, and spaces for facilities and maintenance.
The following is the access floor. The main door is located to the southwest.
Just entering you find a place that communicate visually and physically all the
floors.
In the central area assemble the common zones, the library, auditory,
cafeteria- restaurant, classrooms... The low floor of this area is lifted up on
sharp columns that allow to pass, it is not make necessary to give the whole
turn in order to access to the other ride, and also get a vision of all the
building.
The facade of the cafeteria is made mainly with glass, this creates very
relaxing views of the gardens located at the northeast courtyard.
The other arm belongs to the audiovisual studies and the residence. This one
is anchored to the central one.
A third building stand on the northwest, it would belong to the computer
science area.

On one hand the wall that marks the limit with the street in the zone C, and in the other hand the house of the family of Ortiz de Paz located in the area A-1. It leaves a concept of integrated campus, this is, each center contains uses basically departamentals, as well as seminars, rooms, shops, and specific laboratories of each formation. The classrooms and the library has a centralized character, for all centers. In this Campus every elements are related to each other through areas exclusively for people, having the vehicles access only to the underground parking. The building is made up of four floors, with the basement. In this one is located the parking area, and spaces for facilities and maintenance. The following is the access floor. The main door is located to the southwest. Just entering you find a place that communicate visually and physically all the floors. In the central area assemble the common zones, the library, auditory, cafeteria- restaurant, classrooms... The low floor of this area is lifted up on sharp columns that allow to pass, it is not make necessary to give the whole turn in order to access to the other ride, and also get a vision of all the building. The facade of the cafeteria is made mainly with glass, this creates very relaxing views of the gardens located at the northeast courtyard. The other arm belongs to the audiovisual studies and the residence. This one is anchored to the central one. A third building stand on the northwest, it would belong to the computer science area.
