1. What to expect from your plastic surgeon
The process of deciding that you want plastic surgery can be a difficult
one. If you still have a question in your mind as to whether or not you
should get it, we offer consultations to discuss your worries and ease
your mind. We want you to know as much as possible about the
surgery options that you have to choose from, as well as the effects
each will have on you individually.
We understand that getting reconstructive surgery is life changing and
can be a bit daunting, so we want to prepare you as much as possible
beforehand so you have absolutely nothing to be afraid of. Before your
surgery, the first thing you will do is choose a plastic surgeon and
receive consultation on the surgery or surgeries that you are considering. We want you to personally get
to know your surgeon so you can put your trust in them fully and understand that they are real people,
too. Real people with a lot of valuable experience in the reconstructive surgery field.
Meeting the Surgeon
Once you schedule an appointment, you can feel free to come into our office to learn all about your
options. During this visit, be prepared to review your medical history with your doctor. Following this,
you will discuss exactly which procedure you are considering. To ensure that you are choosing the
procedure that is right for you, you will then have a physical exam.
Physical Examination
As appropriate, you will be taken to a changing room and given an examination robe, where you will
privately change clothes. Only then will the doctor reenter the room to perform the examination.
During this time be sure to make the surgeon aware of any thoughts, queries, or concerns you may
have about yourself or the reconstructive procedure you are considering. As it is our goal to educate
you about the process of reconstructive surgery, you will be told exactly the purpose of each part of the
examination. You can feel comfortable and fully aware of what is going on.
Review Options
Once you have redressed, the doctor will reenter the room to make certain that you are fully aware of
all your options, the possible benefits and disadvantages of each one and any risks. Just like when you
are getting your hair cut, pictures do well to demonstrate exactly what it is you do and do not want. The
2. entire visit should take approximately 30 minutes, depending on how many surgeries you are
considering. We will give you materials to take home and review in order to make your decision.
It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to create a brand new self or just an improved self, we want to help
