2. Code of conduct or netiquette
The policy can be a very general code
of conduct on what is expected of
people, how they should behave, or it
can specify netiquette -good behaviour.
3. Loyalty and clarity of roles
Summarise the loyalty expected from
employees on social media and also
clarify their roles:for examplewhen
you are posting as an employee
vs.when you are posting as a private
person.
4. Profile maintenance
and style guide
How you should maintain your
profile, what needs to be on it, as well
as how your function should be
described.
5. Profile change after ending
employment
This is something that companies think
less about, but is still important. You
might also specify that people have to
change their profile upon completing
their employment. You can agree this
formally when they leave or describe
it in the exit policy.
6. Recommendation rules
Who can recommend who, and how.
Recommendations are a powerful tool and
you should be careful with the
recomendation of people on Linkedin
which are still a part of your organisation.
A good internal rule for HR and managers
may be to only recommend people which
are leaving the company.
7. Ownership of groups
If for example your organisation has
started a few groups and you have
asked your employee to manage one or
more groups, you should make sure
that when exiting, this person returns
administration of the group to relevant
colleagues.
