The patient is independent in daily living but unable to work, placing him in the category of moderate disability. Moderate disability is divided into upper and lower levels based on work capacity and social/strain levels. While the patient's social activities have resumed close to pre-injury levels, his inability to work at all means he falls into the lower moderate disability category. An additional comment notes it would be good to explore further the reasons the patient feels unable to work and whether reduced or full-time work might be possible with adjustments.
