LOOMING OF OMICRON
VARIANT
WELCOME TO
MALAYSIANS
ON MALAYSIA

set to understand the trend and
sentiments that has happened thus
far. Since its inception in 2018, this
study has consistently reported on
insights and sentiments amongst
Malaysians.
Just as we regain confidence in 3Q21,
our MYCI recorded a drop from 109 to
93 points given the media coverage
on the looming of Omicron variant
coupled with the rising cost of living.
BOOST IN DOMESTIC
TRAVEL RECORDED
As always, we continue to also cover
interesting topics like tech trends, e-
wallet insights and other key stats.

MALAYSIANS REMAIN
SUBDUED TOWARDS
MALAYSIAN ECONOMY
Our economy indices hit an all-time
low in 4Q21
After 2 years of travel restrictions, we
see a strong increase in Domestic
travel activities (72% travel
domestically in P3M in 4Q21 vs 3% in
1Q-3Q 21)
AVERAGE NUMBER OF E-
WALLETS USED
INCREASES
Consumers are seen to use more e-
wallets than before averagely. With so
many activities within the e-wallet
space, it is no surprise that consumers
are opting to try out the different e-
wallet services out there so as to
enjoy the perks and benefits offered
by the different players.
MALAYSIANS ARE BLEAK

bleak towards their future financial
well-being and are holding hack on
