Children’s eBooks and apps offer both challenges and opportunities
for a children’s book publisher. Since developing an app or enhanced eBook is an expensive proposition, the panel will discuss the ways for a publisher to benefit from this emerging marketplace. Should they license the content to a developer, hire a developer to develop the digital version, or develop the app in collaboration with a developer? Also, since the marketplace is fragmented across retail stores managed by Apple, Google, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and others, what is the best development and distribution strategy? The panelists will discuss these options along with the how to manage the relationship and expectations between the
publisher and the developer.
Speakers: Deborah Forte, Dominique Raccah, Rana DiOrio. Moderated by Chintu Parikh
