Nutraceutical Medical Research Gains
Footing with New Exhibitors Seeking to
Do Clinical Research at 2010 SupplySide
East
“
Generally speaking, more companies seemed open to doing clinical research studies and
talking with a contract research organization, like ours, than I have ever witnessed before
at an industry show,” Latesha Richards, marketing coordinator of Nutraceutical Medical

Research said about the SupplySide East show exhibit in Secaucus, NJ on April 27th and 28th.
“That just goes to show how much more the industry has recognized the value of clinical studies
in not only staying FTC or FDA compliant, but in advancing their products and making a
marketing impact.”
At SupplySide East 2010, held at
Meadowlands Expo Center, where droves of
attendees flooded the exhibit hall on the first day of
the show, three representatives of Nutraceutical
Medical Research (NMR) got in on a piece of the
action awaiting them. During the 2 day exhibit,
NMR walked around an over 200 booth-filled hall
and introduced themselves and their services to both
domestic and international companies, known and
new, in all product categories including flavors,
finished products, and ingredients.
“This year, we went in with the notion that
most, if not all, exhibiting companies, whether a
dietary supplement, ingredient, food or flavor company would benefit from our clinical trial
and/or medical writing services…and that was the case indeed.” Ms. Richards said. Certainly
NMR did not hesitate to share their services to the exhibitors and other show cruisers. With
assistance of clinical trial and medical writing flyers and a slew of casual ingredient white paper
samples, and executive brass logo-engraved pens, NMR team members engaged all product and
ingredient manufacturers. Some of the talking points were the pilot studies, comprehensive
clinical trial development and implementation services, medical writing, in-depth literature

reviews, white papers, therapeutic specialties, relationships with medical institutions across the
country.
After speaking with
several companies at the show,
NMR found that “companies are
seeing the need and importance for
working with a contract research
organization. More and more
companies are now beginning to
tap into the knowledge, capabilities
and values that we as a CRO can
bring to the table.”
NMR was not looking
to gain clientele by aggressive marketing tactics, but by getting a few options to differentiate
their products and ingredients in front of as many companies as possible. “Companies with
larger research and development budgets may look to differentiate their product with data from a
clinical trial. Smaller companies who lack those financial resources may resort to differentiating
their product from a quality standpoint with a white paper on the efficacy of the ingredients.
Whichever direction a company chooses to go, we want to let them know that a CRO like NMR
can assist them with these projects to fit their marketing objectives and budget.”
