  2. Now let’s have a look at the different types of acceleration that we have available at SAP.By the way these Acceleration Techniques have been introduced with great interest to our customers at numerous occasions, we have the SAP solution tour in over 6 major cities in NA, we have a SAP services webcast and the feedback that we get is excellent. It also reflect the opinion of industry analyst who looked at the suitability of Agile for ERP.Lets get back to our four major groups of techniques. IP Re-Use Solution Demo Approach iterative build Parallelization of ServicesAll of these techniques are complementary and can be applied as a combinationsIP-ReuseThis group speaks to any type of assets that leverage content rich documentation and solutions, such as industry and pre-configured solutions,SAP’s new launch services and also the Virtual Appliance Factory, of which we will hear more about in the later section of this presentation.Solution Demo ApproachThe solution demo approach is an early visualization of the solution based on SAP standard functionalities. It provides customers early confirmation that their requirements can be met, and it builds confidence in the solution. At the same time it helps to reduce the risk of rework since the customer has a better understanding of the proposed solution. The solution demo approach that has been introduced with ASAP 7 as part of Blueprinting. For any development objects we also strongly recommend an approach that helps to simulate and visualize the vision. You will see more on the Solution demo approach in the next sections.Iterative BuildDescribes an approach to build the solution in increments with frequent inspection points, that increase the visibility on the build progress, and help to get earlier acceptance of the solutions.Parallelization of ServicesSpeaks to the concept of “out-sourcing” deliverables of an implementation project to compress the timeline. One of my favorite examples of parallelization is the work that the CoE does as part of Value Prototyping.Let me give you an examples:We were in the preparation for a project at a customer and we knew that it was essential for the project to solve our most critical design problems before we can get seriously started with the project. The problem to solve was as simple as to build a system that is capable of processing 2.2. mio Sales Orders, 560.000 invoices, and 300.000 concurrent price queries based on custom pricing tables. While the project preparation was in flight, we collaborated with the CoE and within 3 week the solution was build in the CoE lab environment, after the 4th week the system had been volume tested And before we went into Blueprinting we had knowledge transfer sessions with the team to explain to them the key design principles. We happen to have with us today Fred Fickling. He is the man, who was my customer of the example given. Since then he joined SAP.Fred, do you want to share with us the benefits that you saw back then as a customer.<Fred speaks>Fred, thank you very much for your insight.
  3. SAP customers are looking to receive early and frequent confirmation that their requirements can be metcost effectively, in order to minimize risk and build confidence in the solution. There is a need to demonstrate capability to solve customer pain points early in or at the beginning of a project, through Proofs of concept, Proofs of vision, and Solution Demos

  7. As you see it illustrated in this slide, assembling solutions starts in the Opportunity Management phaseAs tools, we have ASAP8, And also an Assembled to Order guidethe Assembled to Order Guide helps us to define the solution scope select service content conduct a technical feasibility check identify potential solution gaps determine the implementation sequence or roadmap and helps us to assemble a bid as well as a Statement of WorkASAP8 delivers a Work Break Down structures, that can be combined with each other. Each part of the WBS defines DeliverablesTasksthe deployment mode (on-site, near-shore, off-site) as well as the person responsible and efforts.there will also be an enhanced infrastructure that will not only support the assembly of bids but also the deployment of solutions, all integrated into PtD our project management tool. For you to learn about all of this approach, we have initiated a program for the SAP Advanced Delivery Management in North America and Betsy Bohling will now talk more about this program, after the next poll.Betsy, I would like to hand it over to you now.
