4.  We all make choices all the time, big or small, including this moment that you are
choosing to read this.
 Choices and the process of choosing make every human being very powerful.
 Whether it is simple activities like eating or shopping or more complex ones like a
career or a partner, choices and choosing are a part of our everyday life.
 Choices and choosing are about options, feelings and decisions all in a specific
context.
 And this provides each of us massive leverage- the power to choose how we feel
and change who we are, how we think and act.

5. The flexibility of options

6.  Options are a range of choices based on our filters in the brain.
 Options provide us the flexibility to choose in the context of an outcome. Some
options are obvious, others are not.
 Options are visible to a person based on what they are able to see and not
necessarily what is available.
 And that is because our brain starts applying filters based on past experiences,
beliefs and our own imagination.
 The good news is that the options can be reconstructed in our thinking by adjusting
our filters anytime.

7. Emotions vs logic

8. The process of choosing is an emotional process at its core, however scientific and
logical one may try and make it out to be.
People make choices that are most comfortable to them at that point of time.
If there is more than one option that we feel good about, we start deciding on the one
that we are most comfortable with in that context.
 Logic or reasons strengthens the argument towards a choice and once again makes
us feel good.
So if choosing is all about feeling good then why do people make choices that they feel
they are compelled to?

10. And finally every choice we make takes us to a specific destination.
If the destination is not in line with your expectation make a new choice till
you get to where you want to be.
What is required to do this is awareness of choices, the impact and flexibility
to adopt new choices.
History has shown us throughout that it is not circumstances that shape
human spirit but the human spirit that creates/ overcomes circumstances.
So the next time you feel low, demotivated, upset, challenged, unresourceful,
victimized, stressed, angry or frustrated remember to choose your emotion.
You have the power of choice right at your disposal. Choosing to choose is
your prerogative. Exercise it and unleash your power. Or cut off your choices
and become a victim of your circumstances.
The choice is yours! Choose wisely, everyday.
