Varsity jacket have history of around 150 years. Now all baseball teams in colleges, schools and clubs use the jacket.

2. Varsity or letterman jacket traces
its genesis in the mid 1800s. The
jacket is believed to be used by
the Harvard University for the
first time, 1865. The left breast of
the coat was embroidered with
the letter “H”. These jackets were
given to only best players of
baseball team of the university.

have initials of a baseball team. Infact, one could say that men’s
varsity jackets share its association right from Harvard
University initiative in 1865.

place on jackets. Logo and mascot of a team are also printed on
varsity jackets. Men’s varsity jackets are also used a fashion wear.
