4. Autumn is a strong favorite for many people who live in the Northeast. During September and October there is a change that comes over trees in the region. There is lay daylight in autumn. The temperature falls and leaves stop making green pigment. A pigment is a chemical that gives something color.

9. Needleleaf Trees The leaves on these trees are long and thin, like needles. Their leaves do not change color in autumn. They are also called evergreens. Pines, firs, and spruces are examples.
