3. The Human Genome Project started in 1990 and scientists hoped to use it to identify all the human genes in the human DNA there goals were to, determine the sequences of all of the chemical base pairs that make up human DNA, store there information in data bases, improve the tools for data analysis, and transfer technologies to the private sector. The implication of science ethic regards to the human genome project is issues raised by the human genome can be grouped into two general categories: genetic engineering and genetic information. Their implication on legal regards to human genome is those concerning privacy. The senate is currently considering legislation that would lift a 1995 ban on federal funding of research on human embryonic stem cells. Human Genome Project
4. Genetic Disorder A genetic disorder is caused by mutations, or changes in a persons DNA. These are examples of a single gene disorder Albinism, Tay-Sachs disease, and Sickle-Cell anemia. Down Syndrome involves an extra chromosome. Down syndrome people usually look similar, are short in height, have round faces, and wonderful personalities. They often are faced with heart abnormalities personalities. A chromosome abnormality for a female is called Turner Syndrome. Turner Syndrome is when you have one X instead of two which a normal female would have. So the one less X makes the female look more like a male. For the male a chromosome abnormality is called Klinefelters Syndrome. When a male has Klinefelters Syndrome that is when a male has and extra X which makes the male look more like a female.
