The Holy Rosary Novena With Scriptural Meditations The Holy Rosary Novena With Scriptural Meditations The Glorious Mysteries
In the name of the Father, And of the Son, And of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
For a Novena in Thanksgiving Hail, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, my Mother Mary, hail! At thy feet I gratefully kneel to offer thee a Crown of Roses, fully bloomed white roses, tinged with the red of the Passion, to remind thee of thy glories, fruits of the sufferings of thy Son and thee: each bud recalling to thee a holy mystery; each ten bound together with my petition for a particular grace. O Holy Queen, dispenser of God's graces, and Mother of all who invoke thee! Thou canst not look upon my gift and fail to see its binding. As thou receivest my gift, so wilt thou receive my thanksgiving; from thy bounty thou hast given me the favor I so earnestly and trustingly sought. I despaired not of what I asked of thee, and thou hast truly shown thyself my Mother. For a Novena in Petition Hail, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, my Mother Mary, hail! At thy feet I humbly kneel to offer thee a Crown of Roses, fully bloomed white roses, tinged with the red of the Passion, to remind thee of thy glories, fruits of the sufferings of thy Son and thee: each rose recalling to thee a holy mystery; each ten bound together with my petition for a particular grace. O Holy Queen, dispenser of God's graces, and Mother of all who invoke thee! Thou canst not look upon my gift and fail to see its binding. As thou receivest my gift, so wilt thou receive my petition; from thy bounty thou wilt give me the favor I so earnestly and trustingly seek. I despair of nothing that I ask of thee. Show thyself my Mother!
Apostle's Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.
A prayer for the increase of Faith Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
A prayer for the increase of Hope Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
The First Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection Christ died on Good Friday. He was buried in the Holy Sepulcher. For three days He lay dead. Soldiers guarded the tomb. The Roman Governor, Pilate, placed on the heavy door the seal of Rome. Then Sunday morning dawned. Beautiful light appeared in the sky. The soldiers saw light pouring from the grave where Jesus lay. The great, heavy stone rolled away of itself. And Jesus, glorious, strong, beautiful, and alive, came forth from the tomb. He visited His dear Mother and thanked her. He showed Himself to Mary Magdalene who was weeping for Him. He appeared to His Apostles. He proved to us that we shall live forever. This was the first Easter.
O glorious Mother Mary, meditating on the Mystery of the Resurrection of Our Lord from the Dead, when, on the morning of the third day after His death and burial, He arose from the dead and appeared to thee, dear Mother, and filled thy heart with unspeakable joy; then appeared to the holy women, and to His disciples, who adored Him as their risen God, I humbly pray:
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. I bind these fully bloomed roses with a petition for the virtue of faith and humbly lay this bouquet at thy feet. Fatima Prayer O My Jesus, forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.
For forth days Jesus remained on earth after His Resurrection. He established His Church and gave it wonderful powers. He talked to His friends, telling them about heaven, and about the work they must do first for God and souls. Then one Thursday, He took them all up on Mount Olivet. He gave them His last instructions and said goodbye. Slowly by His own power, He began to rise from the earth. He stretched out His hands to bless them. He smiled down for the last time upon His Mother. At last a cloud covered Him, and He entered the joys of heaven. An angel then came to the Apostles and told them to go back and begin to work for souls. Some day they too would enter heaven and be happy forever.   The Second Glorious Mystery: The Ascension
O glorious Mother Mary, meditating on the Mystery of the Ascension, when thy Divine Son, after forty days on earth, went to Mount Olivet accompanied by His disciples and thee, where all adored Him for the last time, after which He promised to remain with them until the end of the world; then, extending His pierced hands over all in a last blessing, He ascended before their eyes into Heaven, I humbly pray:
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. Jesus took them out as far as the outskirts of Bethany,/ and lifting up his hands he blessed them. (Lk 24:50)

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. 'Baptize them/ in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.' (Mt 28:19)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. 'And teach them to observe/ all the commands I gave you.' (Mt 28:20)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. 'He who believes and is baptized/ will be saved.' (Mk 16:16)

I bind these fully bloomed roses with a petition for the virtue of hope and humbly lay this bouquet at thy feet. Fatima Prayer O My Jesus, forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.
The Third Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Spirit Christ had promised the Apostles, "I will send you the Holy Spirit. He will be your Comforter." After Jesus left them, the Apostles were afraid. So they hid themselves in the little apartment of Mary. They prayed and waited for nine days. This was the first Novena. Then on Pentecost, over their heads, the Apostles saw parted tongues of fire. A tongue settled on each of their heads. The Holy Spirit had come. At once, they went out and began to tell everyone about Jesus. They spoke so strongly that thousands believed and were baptized. This was the birthday of the Catholic Church.
O glorious Mother Mary, meditating on the Mystery of the Descent of the Holy Ghost, when, the Apostles being assembled with thee in a house in Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit descended upon them in the form of fiery tongues, inflaming the hearts of the Apostles with the fire of Divine love, teaching them all truths, giving to them the gift of tongues, and, filling thee with the plentitude of His grace, inspired thee to pray for the Apostles and the first Christians, I humbly pray:
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. When Pentecost day came around,/ they had all met in one room. (Acts 2:1)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. Suddenly they heard what sounded like a powerful wind from heaven,/ the noise of which filled the entire house. (Acts 2:2)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. And something appeared to them that seemed like tongues of fire;/ these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. (Acts 2:3)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit,/ and began to speak about the marvels of God. (Acts 2:4, 11)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. Now there were devout men living in Jerusalem from every nation under heaven. (Acts 2:5)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. I bind these fully bloomed roses with a petition for the virtue of charity and humbly lay this bouquet at thy feet. Fatima Prayer O My Jesus, forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.
The Fourth Glorious Mystery: The Assumption For a long time, Jesus left His Mother on earth. He wanted her to take care of His Apostles, and be the Mother of the new Church. Then one day He quietly sent for her, and with a smile she died. The Apostles came from all over the earth to be at her deathbed. They carried her body to her grave and laid it gently in the ground. Saint Thomas came late, after the burial. When the Apostles took him to the grave, they found it empty and open. Where Mary’s body had rested, beautiful lilies were growing. Jesus had sent His angels to bring the body of His Mother to heaven. It was too pure to rest in the earth. It had served Him so well that it must at once enjoy the happiness of heaven.
O glorious Mother Mary, meditating on the Mystery of thy Assumption, when, consumed with the desire to be united with thy Divine Son in Heaven, thy soul departed from thy body and united itself to Him, Who, out of the excessive love He bore for thee, His Mother, whose virginal body was His first tabernacle, took that body into Heaven and there, amidst the acclaims of the Angels and Saints, reinfused into it thy soul, I humbly pray:
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. 'Come then, my love, my lovely one, come. (Songs 2:10)

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. And the sanctuary of God in heaven opened./ Then came flashes of lightning and peals of thunder, (Rev 11:19)

I bind these fully bloomed roses with a petition for the virtue of perseverance and humbly lay this bouquet at thy feet. Fatima Prayer O My Jesus, forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.
The Fifth Glorious Mystery: The Coronation Mary had served Jesus all her life. She had loved and served God with her whole heart and soul. She had never committed the slightest sin. So in heaven she was to have her reward. Body and soul, Mary entered heaven. Her Son, Jesus, met her and took her in His grateful arms. The heavenly Father said, "This is My dear devoted daughter." The Divine Son said, "This is My dear faithful Mother." The Holy Spirit said, "This is my sweet, pure bride." And the saints and angels all cried, "This is our Queen!" So Jesus, the King of Kings, seated her on her throne. On her head He placed a glorious crown of stars. But Mary looked down to see her children on earth. For now she could help her sons and daughters to reach heaven. Mary is the Queen of Heaven. But she is our loving Mother who protects us with her power.
O glorious Mother Mary, meditating on the Mystery of Thy Coronation in Heaven, when, upon being taken up to Heaven after thy death, thou wert triply crowned as: the august Queen of Heaven by God the Father as His beloved Daughter, by God the Son as His dearest Mother, and by God the Holy Ghost as His chosen Spouse; the most perfect adorer of the Blessed Trinity, pleading our cause as our most powerful and merciful Mother, through thee, I humbly pray:
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. Who is this arising like the dawn,/ fair as the moon, resplendent as the sun? (Songs 6:10)

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our Life, our Sweetness, and our Hope. To Thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to Thee do we send up our sighs, mourning, and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, Thine Eyes of Mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show us the Blessed Fruit of thy Womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary: Pray for us O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
O God! Whose only-begotten Son, by His Life, Death, and Resurrection, has purchased for us the reward of eternal life; grant, we beseech Thee, that, meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen. May the Divine assistance remain always with us. Amen. And may the Souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary

  • 1. The Holy Rosary Novena With Scriptural Meditations The Holy Rosary Novena With Scriptural Meditations The Glorious Mysteries
  • 2. In the name of the Father, And of the Son, And of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
  • 4. Amen.
  • 6. A prayer for the increase of Faith Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
  • 7. A prayer for the increase of Hope Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
  • 8. A prayer for the increase of Charity Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
  • 9. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
  • 12. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. 'I tell you most solemnly, you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.'  (Jn 16:20)
  • 13. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen. 'For I shall see you again, and your hearts will be full of joy,/ and that joy no one shall take from you.' (Jn 16:22)
  • 14. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

After Jesus left them, the Apostles were afraid.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.
