The Ripple EffectJust as Blue Cross Blue Shield started a Corporate Giving Garden Ripple Effect throughout the Twin Cities, our CPG Fridley Giving Garden expanded from one garden in 2010 to nine gardens in 2011: three gardens at Cummins facilities and six gardens at Community Partner sites. Cummins Gardens:Cummins Power Generation, Fridley, MN (original project site)Cummins Mid-range Engine Plant, Columbus, INSeymour Engine Plan, Seymour, INCommonBond Communities/Cummins Collaborative Gardens:Norwood Square, Fridley, MNShingle Creek Commons, Minneapolis, MNKingsley Commons, Minneapolis, MNCommunity Partner Gardens:CommonBond New Village, Minneapolis, MNCommonBond Glenbrook , Milwaukee, WIRise, Inc. Creative Partnership North, Blaine, MN2012 saw that number increase again. For example:The Seymour Garden expanded to a nearby Community Shelter where they taught the residents who to grow their own food (“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”)GE sponsored a CommonBond Garden in the Southwest Metro which we supported with information.
