Plea # 1
1. So... This thing is not about the numbers of dead. It's now about the number of living.
The number of injured. It's about a very rural self sustaining proud people living
throughout the hills and the valleys of a very harsh and very beautiful land who have
worked hard and stockpiled their grain, their potato's, their marketable goods, their
sustenance. The problem is, they cannot access it under the rubble that was once their
humble homes and for those who could do so in a rocky region, their cold cellars. They
don't have refrigerators and if they did, they'd be inaccessible. These are the wonderful
people I've met who need assistance. These are the people of Nepal living at altitude
where it is presently very cold at night. It's been raining. Cold rain. Mixed with snow.
Sheltered under tarps, under nothing, in stone stock barns, huddled against stone walled
fences that years ago they cleared from their tiny terraced fields. Many are the people that
need your help. This is your cause worth fighting for. This is in the moment terrible. This
is world history. You will look back on your contributions no matter how small and thank
yourself in your future. You will feel good for what you've done. I thank you now.
