This document provides an overview of characters for the environmental tale "Trolls", including the child each character represents and the ecological issue the story focuses on. It introduces 12 child characters and their corresponding "trolls", including Akiak who cares for Arctic wildlife, Alkali who loves the ocean, and Bud who is confused by his feelings for Akiak. Each troll strongly cares about the environment and will try to encourage the children to work together to address their ecological problems.

3. TROLLS
Every parent knows that buried deep inside their child is a Troll waiting
to burst forth. Join in this environmental tale of hope and courage as six
adventurous children are set a class assignment to learn about an ecologi-
cal problem that is close to their heart. Each child is so shocked and ap-
palled by what they discover that it awakens their inner Troll and brings
it forth into the physical world. As environmental guardians each child's
Troll is absolutely obsessed with the environment and fixing their specific
ecological problem and immediately begin to create havoc in the children’s
lives until they finally encourage the children to join forces and collec-
tively solve their individual environmental problems.

5. AKIAK TSOSIE(Akiak is Innuit for brave) Voice of Angelina Jolie
Akiak is a highly intelligent slightly vain innuit girl who is very sensitive to the needs of the Arctic
and its wildlife. She is timid meek and mild most of the time, until it comes to topics close to her heart,
where she will stand her ground and fight for what she believes in. Akiak is the only one at school that
cannot stand Bud Floret (the most popular kid at school)

6. ARCTIC TROLL “Cube”Voice of Xzibit
The Arctic troll is friend and protector to all animals from cold environments. He loves to build snowmen
and will obsessively seek out snow to make them. This obsessive compulsive behaviour often gets him into
trouble. His best friend is a baby fur seal and he takes no prisoners with a typical Irish sensibility.

8. Alkali GreyVoice of Pink.
Alkali is a bit of a tom boy and is extremely out spoken, opinionated, and brutally honest. Do not ask this
girl a question that you do not want the answer to. Alkali loves the water and spends all of her spare time
in and around the ocean.

9. OCEAN TROLL “Weedy”Voice of Sir Charles Moore
This guy hates! He hates long line fishing which kills his cetacean friends... He hates plastic bags which
choke his ocean animals ... He hates the great pacific garbage patch, a toxic soup of man-made waste which
is twice the size of Texas... He hates fishing hooks which really hurt when you pull them out, he hates, he
hates, he hates!

11. “Chunk Anderson”Voice of Zach Galifianakis (Hangover)
Chunk is a happy go lucky character who is unconcerned with conventional stereotypes. Chunk is a little on
the large side and is unusually strong for his age. Some kids bully him at school (including Bud Floret)
but he doesn’t care in the slightest. He knows he is smarter and stronger than most people so what they say
and do to him largely has no effect. His best friend is Dusty Floret

12. BUTTERFLY TROLL “Flutter”Voice of Patrick Warburton
Spending most of his time in pursuit of his favourite food, butterfly snot, this troll is the dedicated
boisterous warrior for insect rights. Do not show this troll a can of insect spray.

14. DESERT TROLL BOY “Dusty Floret”(Younger brother to Bud). Voice of Jimmy Bennet (Polar Express)
Dusty is a whizz kid with computers and has an IQ that will put most professors to shame. He is always
happy (which is why he is best friends with Chunk) and is a master practical joker and mischief maker.

15. DESERT TROLL “Sandy”Voice of Tony Robinson
Cute as a button (for a Troll) and a calm passive nature, the Desert Troll is somewhat sad because the
sandy wasteland in which he lives used to be a vibrant lush green forest, filled with animals of all kinds.
Now he is stuck with lizards and cactus, the lizards don't say much and the cacti are spiky to eat.
Later on the Desert Troll finds a new purpose in life as his outer child teaches him how to remove the
cactus thorns (before you cook and eat them) and how to prepare a wonderful cactus fruit salad.

17. FLOWER TROLL BOY “Bud Floret”(older brother to Dusty) Voice of The Rock
Bud is the most popular kid at school. He is a gifted athlete with a brooding unpredictable nature. He is
both confused and obsessed by Akiak Tsosie who is the only kid at school who does not worship him (apart
from his brother)

18. FLOWER TROLL “Honey”Voice of David Suzuki.
The ear wax of bees is the one food source the Flower Troll prizes above all other. The bees have been
becoming very sick of late with a strange fungus which affects their nervous system. This means the Flower
Troll has had to pollinate all the flowers by hand so the plants are able to grow and the bees have pollen
to make honey (the Flower Trolls second favourite food). He has been very busy.

20. BIRD TROLL Girl “Banty Willow”(Best friend of Akiak) Voice of Bindy Urwin
Banty has a kind, mild mannered, polite and charming demeanour which can at times be cast into sharp con-
trast with staunch and vocal opposition to wrong doing. Birds are her favourite thing in the whole world
and she loves her pet owl ‘Feathers’ dearly. Banty loves to read and has encyclopaedic knowledge of many
topics.

21. BIRD TROLL “Flapper”Voice of Bill Bailey
A bad attitude with a gentle nature causes the Bird Troll to sometimes be misunderstood. Be under no illu-
sions, birds are his life blood and he will do anything to protect them... Just ask him. His favourite
catch cry is “here kitty kitty” which is usually followed by a loud “meeeooowww” off screen.
