MANUAL CALCULATION
SAUDI ARAMCO INDUSTRIAL LIGHTING| Day One - Indoor & Emergency Applications
SAMPLE: How many recessed fixture 5712A/236BF.2 to
use in an Office with a Dimension of 4m x 5m x 3m?
Given:
5712A/236BF.2, Office, 5x4x3
F = 3350 lumens
n = 2 lamps
MF = 0.8
E = 500 lux, target ave
A = 5 x 4,
Ch = Mh = 3m
Reflectances CWF: 70-50-20
MANUAL CALCULATION
SAUDI ARAMCO INDUSTRIAL LIGHTING| Day One - Indoor & Emergency Applications
To get the Uf, find the Room Index
L x W 4 x 5
RI = --------------- = -------------------
(L + W) Hw (4 + 5)(3.0-0.76)
RI = 0.992
Replacing the Values:
E x A (500) x (20)
N = --------------------- = -----------------------------
F x n x MF x Uf 3350 x 2 x 0.8 x 0.4
N = 4.664 ≈ 5.0 fixtures
To Verify this, we use
Dialux Light software
DIALUX LIGHT (BLUE ICON)
SAUDI ARAMCO INDUSTRIAL LIGHTING| Day One - Indoor & Emergency Applications
DIALux Light Wizard has been
available since DIALux version
3.1. With the help of this wizard
it is possible to complete
lighting designs quickly and
simply. This means that
infrequent users of DIALux can
readily use the program without
having to train themselves fully
in using the software.
