Work Experience; 2014 to present, FRC West DET Lemoore, Lemoore CA USA
40-55 hours per week; Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic Civilian Federal employee at Fleet
Readiness Center West DET Lemoore, Building 180 Reeves Blvd, NAS Lemoore, CA

Accomplished unsupervised work in the fabrication, repair and modification of
aircraft sheet metal structures and various components as necessary for the dis-assembly,
repair, assembly, modification to the F/A-18 aircraft sheet metal including graphite epoxy,
composite panels, structures and various component parts. I have extensive experience
with Airframe Changes (AFC's) and In Service Repair (ISR's) on many aircraft types. I
have inspected various areas of the aircraft for corrosion to include light blending of areas,
evaluating and repairing the aircraft and component per specification, preparing these
areas for sandblast and tin-zinc metal spray. I use a wide variety of basic hand tools and
tools pertaining to the sheet metal trade such as cold-working tools, dagger drills, step
reamers and the use of precision measuring devices and instruments, such as protractors,
micrometers, calipers, hole gauges, height, depth, dial, screw, and pressure gauges. I
evaluate and research technical directives such as manufactures' drawings, Illustrated
Parts Breakdown (IPB), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM's) and Interactive Electronic
Technical Manual (IETM's) to establish any tasks that are over and above the required
depot rework specifications, determining priorities, deadlines of scheduled inspections.
I’ve also installed engineering modifications and properly cradle the aircraft to
accomplish the assigned work. I’ve examined damaged areas, both structural and non-
structural, to determine the sequence of operations necessary for repair and replacement
and the depth of dis-assembly and assembly required. I remove rivets and other fasteners
from damaged areas, I drill and break spot welds and disassemble surfaces. I make new
skins, patches and reinforcements and install them using all types of rivets, bolts, Jo-bolts,
both standard and oversize in ribs, skins, spars, clamps, brackets, stiffeners, angles and
other structural assemblies. I have also repaired or replaced skins and structure sections
and pre-drill casting forgings, while maintaining required critical tolerances on all
installations. I regularly transfer holes to new parts and or templates. I layout, cut, drill,
bend and shape sheet metal and extruded metal stock. This has allowed me to work with
a variety of metals such as aluminum, titanium, magnesium, steel, stainless steel and
alloys.
Years experienced with supervising individuals, attention to detail to
individuals’ tasks, leading to a follow up and correction of any discrepancies assuring
2. individuals accomplish tasks to the highest quality. Multiple hours of training in safety,
identification of possible issues, personnel or situations awareness to assure safety to
personnel and Aircraft during maintenance tasks. Clear thought processing capability in
highly stressful situations to assure that maintenance can be accomplished safely without
sacrificing successful mission accomplishment.
Work Ethic, Integrity & Achievements;
Received 9+ Quality Assurance Pass Evaluations during Hostile environment in
Afghanistan and Iraq while maintaining 100 percent integrity of Aircraft maintenance.
