possible responses in 2034, both in South Africa and
globally. What do such potential problems mean for
you as a member of the MBChB Class of 2014?
2. Discuss the kinds of knowledge, competencies and
approaches you will need to develop to be a
competent, compassionate and appropriate doctor in
2034.
3. Describe recent developments that relate to the
leadership role of health professionals to more
effectively address the health needs of the country’s
population.
