The KickStart model grew out of the frustration that Martin Fisher
 and Nick Moon had with traditional aid and development efforts.
They wanted to know that their efforts were creating real, lasting,
and cost-effective change. This Impact Monitoring strategy has
been an integral part of the KickStart model from the beginning.

started in Africa

• Today more than 800 new businesses are being
created each month

poverty.

• Each year these businesses generate over $104 ml
in new profits and wages

• By bringing together the entrepreneurial spirit of
  the poor, innovative tools and technologies, and
  the power of the marketplace, they developed a
  cost effective and sustainable way to help families
  lift themselves out of poverty

  class but help them gain their confidence back as
  well as provide security of tomorrow
• They make a difference: families are able to
  educate their children and this way shape a better
  society
