Background and Motivation
• Educational technologies can address the expectations of
students
• In RSA many students attended dysfunctional schools; NB to
supplement their knowledge and skills for the global society they
will work and live in
• Current assessment practises tend to focus on ‘assessment of
learning’ and not ‘assessment for learning’
• Fails in supporting students to become self-regulated life-long
learners
• Encourage deep-learning practises
