 What ages of children can participate? 
Children ages 2‐1/2 to 5 may attend. 
 What is your child‐to‐teacher ratio? 
We have a maximum ratio of 6:1. 
 What are your teachers’ qualifications? 
All hold Master’s Degrees in Education. 
 Do you also offer childcare? 
Yes, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. and from  
12:30 to 6:00 p.m. 
 What are your preschool hours? 
9:00 to 12:30 p.m. for ages 2‐1/2 to 3; 
9:00 to 3:30 for ages 4 to 5  
 When is enrollment?  
Children may begin classes any month of 
the school year, from September to May. 
 Do you have a screening process? 
We conduct a language screening and an 
overall well‐being assessment. 
 How is your preschool inclusion‐based? 
Learning is enhanced through social 
interaction with children from diverse 
backgrounds and hearing abilities.

Our newly renovated classrooms include 
preschool libraries, current A/V and 
Internet technologies, restrooms and 
parent observation rooms. We have 2 
playgrounds, and eating / meeting areas. 
 
 
About Us 
At  Dickinson  C.  Ross  Preschool  (Ross 
Preschool)  we  combine  high  quality  learning
with  opportunities  to  develop  creativity  and 
engage  in  social  play.  We  offer  language  rich 
experiences  that  nurture  your  child’s  future 
leadership skills and allow your child’s talents 
and interests to flourish. Designed for children 
ages  2‐1/2  to  5,  the  Ross  Preschool  is  an
inclusion‐based  program  that  prepares 
children for a bright future of communication,
academic success and leadership.   
 
We  are  a  California  accredited  Non  Public 
School  (NPS)  as  a  part  of  John  Tracy  Clinic
(JTC),  a  non‐profit  organization  founded  in 
1943  by  the  late  actor  Spencer  Tracy  and  his 
wife  Louise  Treadwell  Tracy.  JTC  is  an 
education  center  for  young  children  with 
hearing  loss.  Today,  through  the  Ross 
Preschool program, JTC opens its doors to all 
high achieving children so they too can benefit 
from  one  of  the  nation’s  most  advanced
preschool  programs  focusing  on  language, 
listening and academic achievement.  
 
We  are  located  on  the  beautiful,  spacious 
grounds of the John Tracy Clinic. Our campus
and parking lot are safely gated with security 
access.
