About me
1. 5 things to know
about me
THAT MATTER TO CS377T
2. 1. scanned
people’s brains
while they were
hypnotized
True story. I spent the last
two years at Stanford
collaborating with Dr. Spiegel
(Psychiatry) and Dr. Greicius
(Neurology) collecting and
analyzing fMRI data of people
in a deep and relaxing state
of suggestive hypnosis.
3. 2. taught ~200
students
different ways
to breathe
I teach a course called
“yesplus” (MED 130) through
the Stanford Medical school -
students learn how to
harness their breathing to
get desired states of mind
(e.g., wakefulness, relaxation).
4. 3. designed online meditation
experiences
I did UX research and design consulting for
a platform that hosts online group
meditations called meditate.ly. The startup
ended up dissolving and I have many
learnings I’d love to share in CS377T!
5. 4. driven by a deeply personal
question and research interest
How do we maintain personal practices like
meditation? My background is in
psychology and behavioral sciences from
MgGill University - I want to answer this
question from a behavioral perspective.
6. 5. learning,
design, and
technology
Masters student
I’m in this Masters program
because I care about people
learning how to maintain
their wellness and health.
After Stanford, I see myself
doing R&D for wellness
products that could be used
in schools and/or businesses.
