3. KNIGHTMARE DEFINITION
●A nightmare is an unpleasant dream that can
cause a strong emotional response from the
mind, typically fear or horror but
also despair, anxiety and great sadness.
●The dream may contain situations of danger,
discomfort, psychological or physical terror.
Sufferers often awaken in a state of distress and
may be unable to return to sleep for a prolonged
period.

4. Etymology
●Nightmare" evokes the modern word for a
female horse but the terms are wholly unrelated.
The word derives from the Old English "mare“ , a
mythological demon or goblin who torments
others with frightening dreams.

dream-aspect.

5. CAUSES FOR NIGHTMARES
●Physical causes for having nightmares:
●Sleeping in an uncomfortable position,
causing the limbs to become numb for
lack of blood circulation; the neck in such
position that you can not breath properly.
●Having a fever, the excessive temperature
could cause you to have nightmares.

nightmares:
●Eating before going to sleep, would
increase the body's metabolism and brain
activity, which are potentials for
nightmares.
●Recurrent nightmares may require
medical help, as they can interfere with
sleeping patterns and cause insomnia.

nightmares:
●Stress and anxiety.
● A side effect for taking some medical
drugs.
●Been high in drugs on drunk can as well
cause you to have nightmares.

8. Spiritual causes for having
nightmares:
●Be careful what you read, watch on TV,
Movies, Internet, etc.; the images, music
and words you allow into your mind will
affect your mind.
●Some scary movies today seem to be
inspired by demons.

9. Spiritual causes for having
nightmares:
●Demons inspire some people to produce
movies, music, magazines, etc; that open
doors to demonic activation causing fear
and nightmares.

of stuff for those who mentally devour
such trash.
●Once hooked on this addictions,
deliverance an a follow up is needed so
this souls can be and stay free from this
type of spiritual dominance.

●THE ATMOSPHERE SURROUNDING YOU
●Let’s suppose there is a person sleeping
next door that is influenced by unclean
spirits, while that person is sleeping, the
evil spirit is able to enter or exit the body
of this person at will, as we know that
spirits don’t sleep.

could bring it out as a nightmare.

21. How to stop nightmares
●What is important for us is to know that:
●We don’t need them,
●We don’t like them,
●We have a Powerful Helper, Who can set
us free, And help us to stay free.

22. The HOLY SPIRIT is our Helper.
●Christians are inspired by the Holy Spirit
to have holy thoughts.

●15 But he who is spiritual judges all things,
yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.
16 For “who has known the mind of the
LORD that he may instruct Him?”[a] But we
have the mind of Christ.

23. The HOLY SPIRIT is our Helper.
●The Holy Spirit can act on us so our
works can be holy as well.
●The Holy Spirit can draw our hearts and
teach us to love only what is holy.
●The Holy Spirit wraps us all over to keep
us always holy.

27. APPLYING THE BLOOD
OF JESUS
●The blood of Jesus is powerful and
effective in the realm of thoughts,
actions, reactions, addictions, and even
in the realm of your subconscious and
your dreams.

28. ●You can apply the blood of Jesus over
your sleeping time.
●When you go to bed at night, you can pray
declaring aloud something like this:

●“Dear Father, I plead the precious blood
of Jesus upon my spirit soul and body as
I’m ready to sleep. Protect me from any
nightmares this night. Send your holy
angels to watch over me. Put in me your
dreams, reveal to me your plans. I know
the power of your blood dear Jesus to
forgive my sins and to guard my mind.
●In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

30. DO YOUR OWN PRAYER
●Try it and apply it.
●Believe it and receive it.
●God wants you to experience a great
night’s sleep!
●He will give you interactive dreams with
Him, so you can not only see Him, but
listen to Him and he will listen to you; feel
Him and have revelation of the dreams
God wants to communicate to you.

31. Setting up the atmosphere in
your bedroom:
●You need to set up your peaceful night’s
rest.
●Your active participation on rejecting and
saying “No” to those things that are not
from God will ensure you a peaceful
resting night
●The minute we stop saying “No” to those
things, we could be surprised having
some troubled dreams.

32. ●Memorizing Scripture passages and
declaring them is another excellent way
to keep your mind and heart filled with
good thoughts.
●There is much power in the Word of God
to defeat temptations, demons and
nightmares

●24 When you lie down, you will not be
afraid;
Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will
be sweet.

35. Fill your room with worship sounds.
●You could set stereo system in your room
with some worship song before going to
sleep, to feel the atmosphere with a restful
holy tone.
●You could even let worship music run all
night with a lower volume that would not
disturb your sleeping time.

36. By the same token, do not be embarrassed
of going for medical help. Only God can
select the way how He wants to set you free.
In some cases the person having the
nightmares should ask for spiritual
counseling and ministry, some generational
stuff could be lingering around.
