          Doris Weiss            Doris Weiss began taking classes at the College in 1987. As         N/A
          Memorial               a senior citizen, she brought with her an extensive background

          Majors                 department’s classes, as well as an inspiration for the
                                 students. Her focus at the College was in painting and
                                 ceramics. Upon her death in January 1993, a memorial
                                 exhibition of her many art works was held at the College. Her
                                 children presented the College with a grant from her estate in
                                 order to set up a scholarship in her name for art students.


          Dr. Edward             Dr. Edward Anderson was the founding director of the                N/A
          Anderson               College’s Division of Economics and Business
          Scholarship            Administration, serving as professor from 1965 until his death
          (Business              in June of 1972. Dr. Anderson was highly regarded for his
          Programs)              many talents and contributions to the College as an educator,
                                 administrator, entrepreneur, marketing expert and artist. It was
                                 Dr. Anderson’s devotion to his students in the role of educator
                                 that inspired alumni contributors to name this scholarship in

Dr. Jose Lebron        The Dr. Jose Lebron Scholarship provides one two-year              N/A

Goldschlager Future    The Goldshlager Future Teacher Award is presented annually         N/A

                       year in which the application is submitted. Applicant must be

Goldsmith-Irby         The Goldsmith-Irby Scholarship, supported by the Community         N/A

                       pursuing his/her associate's degree at Community College of
                       Philadelphia. Scholarship funds will be applied directly to the

Greater Philadelphia   The Greater Philadelphia Book Bank Award provides up to            N/A

                       Science and Technology; Science; or Engineering Science.

Harry Hunter Truth     The Harry Hunter Truth Scholarship, provides a maximum            N/A
Scholarship            award of up to $1,000, to a student from Edward Bok
                       Technical High School who exemplifies good character,
                       citizenship, and volunteers in the community. The recipient
                       must be pursuing his/her associate’s degree at Community
                       College of Philadelphia beginning in the upcoming fall
                       semester. Scholarship funds will be applied directly to the
                       recipient's tuition accounts in equal disbursements in the fall
                       and spring semesters.


Hassel Foundation      The Hassel Foundation Scholarship provides a maximum of           N/A

                       associate's degree in nontraditional career programs at the
                       Community College of Philadelphia.



John C. Bogle          The John C. Bogle Pathways Scholarship provides up to $500        N/A

                       this scholarship will provide financial support to a low-income
                       individual pursuing an associate’s degree. We encourage

Kathryn J.             The Kathryn J. Engebretson Scholarship provides up to             N/A

                       associate's degree. Specifically, this award is geared toward
                       individuals returning to college and pursuing a postsecondary
                       degree to enhance their lives and achieve their career goals.
                       Scholarship is contingent upon the student's enrollment
                       status, GPA, and the explicit understanding that recipient
                       completes their associates degree in the allotted amount of
                       time. Females are encouraged to apply.


Lucy K. Gaines         The Lucy K. Gaines Scholarship for Dual Admissions                N/A
Scholarship for Dual   Students provides up to $250, to one student pursuing an
Admissions             associate’s degree in any of the College’s Dual Admissions
                       programs.



Patricia B. Dixon      Dawn Dixon Carr, daughter of Patricia Dixion, established this    N/A
Scholarship            scholarship to provide financial support to a student attending
                       Community College of Philadelphia in pursuit of an associate
                       degree. Specifically, this award is for a student who recently
                       graduated from an inner city high school, will be in his or her
                       first year at Community College of Philadelphia, and who is
                       attending college to pursue a degree wherein upon
                       graduation, will be in a profession that focuses in assisting,
                       educating, or serving in communities where its citizens are
                       impoverished and in need of an array of social services. This
                       scholarship is given to support the student who believes in
                       giving back to his or her community and in helping others
                       selflessly.


Philadelphia           The Philadelphia Concierge Association Book Award provides        N/A

          Philadelphia          This scholarship fund was established to assist the College’s        N/A

          Scholarship           recipients do not need to be enrolled in a particular
                                curriculum, preference will be given to students who have
                                selected a career in community service. Students must have
                                applied for federal financial aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate
                                financial need.



          Piscopo Family        The Piscopo Family Scholarship provides up to $1,000 toward          N/A

          Ruth Homles Bacon     Established in 2004, the Award honors the late Ruth Bacon,           N/A

          Fellowship            Community College of Philadelphia. This scholarship is
                                designed to increase the involvement of students of Asian and
                                Hispanic origins in the Early Childhood Education program.
                                The Ruth Homles Bacon Minority Student Fellowship provides
                                up to $1,500 toward tuition to a current student at the College
                                pursuing an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
                                Scholarship funds will be applied directly to the recipient's
                                tuition account. Students of Asian and Hispanic descent
                                strongly encoraged to apply.


          Ruth Rovner           The Ruth Rovner Scholarship recognizes a student for                 N/A
          Scholarship           academic achievement and for success in coping with
                                challenges and overcoming barriers to reach goals.
                                Community service and volunteer activities will also be a
                                consideration, but not a requirement. Financial need will also
                                be considered. The Ruth Rovner Scholarship provides $1,000
                                toward tuition to one (1) part-time or full-time student.
                                Scholarship recipients who maintain their eligibility at the end
                                of the first year of the scholarship award may be eligible to
                                receive a second year of funding.


          Ryan L. Thorne        Established by a graduate of Community College of                    N/A

          Shirley P. Thomas     The Shirley P. Thomas Scholarship provides up to $1,000 to          N/A

                                student pursuing a non-traditional degree. Scholarship funds
                                will be applied directly to recipients' tuition accounts in equal
                                disbursements for the fall and spring semesters. Females
                                are strongly encouraged to apply.



          Terri Lynne Lokoff    Fred and Kay Lokoff established the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child        N/A
          Child Care            Care Foundation to honor the memory of their daughter, Terri
          Foundation            Lynne, who died tragically in an automobile accident. The Terri

                                the College’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program.
                                Scholarship recipients' must be committed to working in child
                                care, or to continuing their formal education in the field.
                                Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the baccalaureate
                                degree-granting institution to which the recipient is
                                transferring.


          The Benson Jacobs     The Benson Jacobs Quinn Scholarship was established in              N/A
          Quinn Scholarship     memory of Rose and Herb Jacobs and Emma and John
                                Quinn, who cherished education. This scholarship is intended
                                to support a low-income student who values education and is
                                pursuing an associate’s degree.


          The Jane Pepper       The Jane G. Pepper Scholarship provides $400 toward tuition         N/A
          Scholarship           to one student who is committed to beautifying and protecting
                                our planet Earth. Applicants must participate in community
                                endeavors associated with environmental issues. This award
                                is open to students who completed, or are currently enrolled
                                in Earth Science 111 – Environmental Conservation during the
                                fall semester. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative
                                GPA of 3.25. Scholarship funds will be applied directly to the
                                recipient's tuition account for the spring semester.

AlliedBarton Security The AlliedBarton Security Services Scholarship (Justice) is for N/A Services Scholarship graduating high school senior, or first-time college student, or (Justice) current student with <15 credits enrolled, or planning to enroll in Justice Program; enroll 6+ credits/semester. Alpha Beta Gamma, The Alpha Beta Gamma, Eta Sigma Chapter Scholarship N/A Eta Sigma Chapter provides $1,000 toward tuition to Temple University to an Eta Scholarship Sigma Chapter member initiated last fall or spring semester and who will complete his/her associate degree by the end of the upcoming spring semester. Membership and date of initiation will be verified by the faculty advisor. Qualified applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and must have earned a minimum of 45 credits by the end of the current fall semester. Alpha/Staples Alpha, a minority-owned office supply company, in partnership N/A Scholarship with Staples, an international office product supplier, provides $1000 toward tuition for the spring semester to seven students who are enrolled full-time and have completed at least one semester at the College. Qualified applicants must also have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. American Food & American Food & Vending provides $2500 toward tuition to N/A Vending CAHM two students in the Culinary Arts program. The Scholarship was established to reward students with a demonstrated passion for writing who have overcome significant barriers on the way to success, and to recognize students with the ability to achieve academically. College Scholarship The College Scholarship for Academic Excellence provides a N/A for Academic maximum annual award of up to $500 to a graduating student Excellence who will continue his/her education at a baccalaureate institution. The award is given in recognition of scholarly and general achievement at the College. Financial need is taken into consideration. Regular contributions of the faculty and staff of the College fund this award. Future availability is contingent upon continued funding. Awards are paid directly to the four-year institution. CollegeFairMagazine The CollegeFairMagazine Book Scholarship in Memory of N/A Book Scholarship in Reverend Sol Murphy and Cecil Watkins will provide students Memory of Rev. Sol with book scholarships valued at $100 each for the spring Murphy and Cecil 2013 semester. The book scholarship is for use at the Watkins College’s Book Store. To be eligible, students must have earned 12 or more credits, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, and be enrolled, full-time or part-time, in one of the following Social Science programs: Paralegal Studies, Justice, Computer Forensics, Fire Science, Applied Studies, or Geographic Information Systems. Community College The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation Scholars N/A of Philadelphia Program recognizes students who demonstrate the ability to Foundation Scholars achieve in academic and community endeavors and who have Program overcome barriers on the way to success. Diane and George The Diane and George Davis Scholarship provides up to N/A Davis Scholarship $1000 toward tuition to deserving students enrolled at Community College of Philadelphia in pursuit of an associate's degree. Scholarship funds will be applied in equal disbursements over the fall and spring semesters. Scholarship recipients who maintain their eligibility at the end of the first year of the scholarship award may be eligible to receive a second year of funding. African-American males are encouraged to apply. Doris Weiss Doris Weiss began taking classes at the College in 1987. As N/A Memorial a senior citizen, she brought with her an extensive background Scholarship for Art in the arts and was a wonderful addition to the Art Majors department’s classes, as well as an inspiration for the students. Her focus at the College was in painting and ceramics. Upon her death in January 1993, a memorial exhibition of her many art works was held at the College. Her children presented the College with a grant from her estate in order to set up a scholarship in her name for art students. Dr. Edward Dr. Edward Anderson was the founding director of the N/A Anderson College’s Division of Economics and Business Scholarship Administration, serving as professor from 1965 until his death (Business in June of 1972. Dr. Anderson was highly regarded for his Programs) many talents and contributions to the College as an educator, administrator, entrepreneur, marketing expert and artist. It was Dr. Anderson’s devotion to his students in the role of educator that inspired alumni contributors to name this scholarship in his honor. George Arnold The George Arnold Scholarship was established to develop N/A Scholarship and reward students with a demonstrated passion for their program of study who have overcome significant barriers on the way to success, and to recognize students who demonstrate the ability to achieve academically. The George Arnold Scholarship provides a maximum award of up to $500 toward tuition to multiple students. Scholarship funds will be applied directly to the recipients’ tuition account. Goldschlager Future The Goldshlager Future Teacher Award is presented annually N/A Teacher Scholarship to one student to encourage future study in the field of Award education and teacher preparation. Applicant must have completed 30 credits by the end of the Spring semester of the year in which the application is submitted. Applicant must be enrolled in the Education curriculum. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Applicant must have taken at least one of the following Education courses: EDUC 201, 202, 225 or 226. Goldsmith-Irby The Goldsmith-Irby Scholarship, supported by the Community N/A Scholarship College of Philadelphia Alumni Association, provides a maximum award of up to $250 toward tuition, to a student pursuing his/her associate's degree at Community College of Philadelphia. Juliette Forgione The Juliette Forgione Scholarship was established to develop N/A Scholarship and reward students who have overcome significant barriers on the way to success, and to recognize students who demonstrate the ability to achieve academically. Specifically, this scholarship will provide financial support to a low-income individual pursuing an associate’s degree. We encourage female students to apply. Kathryn J. The Kathryn J. Engebretson Scholarship provides up to N/A Engebretson $10,000 toward tuition and books, with no more than $5,000 Scholarship disbursed in one academic year, to students pursuing their associate's degree. Specifically, this award is geared toward individuals returning to college and pursuing a postsecondary degree to enhance their lives and achieve their career goals. Scholarship is contingent upon the student's enrollment status, GPA, and the explicit understanding that recipient completes their associates degree in the allotted amount of time. Gaines Scholarship for Dual Admissions N/A Scholarship for Dual Students provides up to $250, to one student pursuing an Admissions associate’s degree in any of the College’s Dual Admissions programs. Patricia B. Dixon Dawn Dixon Carr, daughter of Patricia Dixion, established this N/A Scholarship scholarship to provide financial support to a student attending Community College of Philadelphia in pursuit of an associate degree. Specifically, this award is for a student who recently graduated from an inner city high school, will be in his or her first year at Community College of Philadelphia, and who is attending college to pursue a degree wherein upon graduation, will be in a profession that focuses in assisting, educating, or serving in communities where its citizens are impoverished and in need of an array of social services. This scholarship is given to support the student who believes in giving back to his or her community and in helping others selflessly. Philadelphia The Philadelphia Concierge Association Book Award provides N/A Concierge up to $250 toward the purchase of textbooks in the College's Association Book Bookstore, to two (2) Community College of Philadelphia Award students enrolled in the Hospitality Management Program. Award funds are disbursed during the fall semester. Ruth Holmes Bacon Established in 1989, the Ruth Holmes Bacon Award of N/A Award of Excellence Excellence honors the memory of Ruth Bacon, an instructor in (Education-Early the College’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program. This scholarship is designed to increase the involvement of students of Asian and Hispanic origins in the Early Childhood Education program. The Ruth Homles Bacon Minority Student Fellowship provides up to $1,500 toward tuition to a current student at the College pursuing an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
